The Billionaire Alpha’s Farming Luna: Too Late to Please the Herbal Queen! Chapter 06

The entire hall instantly plunged into a suffocating silence.

Graham’s face was a shifting palette of emotions—excitement, thrill, utter shock…

Nell’s eyes bulged wide, completely filled with disbelief and jealousy.

Calder refused to accept reality. He stepped forward and pressed on, his voice laced with desperation.

“Alpha Bram, are you sure? She… she is really your mate? You didn’t mistake her for someone else, did you?”

The moment the words left his mouth, Graham strode over and smacked him hard on the back of the head.

“This is your brother-in-law. Shut up and sit down!”

The guests erupted into whispers.

“Alpha Bram is Alpha Graham’s son-in-law? But isn’t Nell’s mate Harlan Greaves?”

“Didn’t they introduce her as a distant relative just now? Didn’t they say she was facing financial difficulties and staying here temporarily?”

True to his reputation as a ruthless businessman, Graham recovered with astonishing speed.

He immediately grabbed my hand, leading me before the guests, and announced with intense enthusiasm.

“I was just about to tell everyone! This is my daughter, Maren Ashford, who was lost for twenty years and was finally found just yesterday.”

“By the Moon Goddess’s grace, we are finally reunited. It breaks my heart to think how my wife has pined for her all these years.”

Graham then grabbed Bram’s hand, his face flushed with excitement.

“My dear son-in-law! Thank you for taking such meticulous care of Maren all these years. On behalf of my family, I offer you my deepest gratitude.”

The guests looked back and forth between Graham and me in confusion.

A few quick-witted ones stepped forward with congratulations.

“Congratulations, Alpha—fortune has truly smiled upon you. Your daughter returned, and a son-in-law like no other.”

“Maren has such presence, and Bram is every bit the distinguished Alpha. A match made by the Moon herself. Congratulations!”

Graham beamed with pride, smiling broadly as he socialized with the crowd—completely erasing how he had just looked at me with pure disgust moments ago.

Bram, however, was no ordinary man.

Though the guests kept their murmurs low, Bram acutely picked up on the strange atmosphere.

Bram raised his eyes to scan the birthday banner, looked at Nell in her haute couture gown, and finally let his gaze rest on me.

When he spoke, his voice carried a distinct chill.

“Maren is being playful tonight—wearing this old thing. You’ll have to forgive her.”

Embarrassment flashed across Graham’s face. He turned and snapped fiercely at Nell.

“Nell, what happened? Didn’t I tell you yesterday to give Maren your best gown?”

“What is the meaning of this? Are you jealous that your sister is back, so you intentionally gave her old clothes?”

“I didn’t!” Nell immediately looked deeply hurt and innocent. “I really gave her my best ones. I don’t know why Maren chose to wear this. Maybe she’s just used to dressing plainly after all those years farming in the countryside.”

Hearing this, how could Bram not understand what was happening?

The warmth in his eyes vanished completely, replaced by a terrifyingly flat, icy stare.

He waved his hand.

“Bring the gown I prepared for my Luna.”

A few seconds later, two guards carefully walked in carrying a box.

Bram took it and opened it himself.

Under the chandeliers, the gown radiated a dazzling light—white silk covered in meticulously scattered diamonds that shimmered intensely with the slightest movement, blindingly bright.

Bram wrapped his arm around my waist and guided me to the back room.

The moment he helped me slip off the cheap dress, his eyes froze, and his voice trembled uncontrollably.

“Baby, your back… who did this to you?”

I slowly put on the new gown and let out a cold laugh.

“Oh, didn’t you know? The Ashford Pack has a very glorious tradition.”

“They told me I didn’t understand pack etiquette, so they decided to beat me savagely to teach me some manners.”

“Not too many. Just thirty lashes.”

The temperature in the room instantly plummeted below freezing.

A murderous rage surged in Bram’s widening pupils.

“Every single scratch on your body will be paid back, Maren. And it starts tonight at this very banquet.”
