My Billionaire Husband Lost His Memory, and I Left With His Child Chapter 04

They rushed forward in a panic, calling for a doctor. Several people gathered around Adrian and lifted his unconscious body away.

Dr. Lawson arrived quickly. After examining him, he looked up and said, “This is good news. The clot in Mr. Whitmore’s brain is clearing much faster than expected. His memory may return very soon.”

Mrs. Whitmore managed a strained smile.

Mr. Whitmore only frowned. He said nothing for a long moment, sighing again and again before finally waving his hand. “Take him to another room and let him rest. Have the nurses watch him closely.”

After Adrian was helped out of the room and the door closed behind him, three pairs of eyes turned to me at the same time.

Mr. Whitmore spoke first, his voice heavy with exhaustion. “Ms. Parker, we never wanted to hurt you. But now we don’t have another choice.”

“You let Adrian find you again.”

He picked up his phone and made a call.

Less than twenty minutes later, a series of firm footsteps sounded outside the door.

The door opened, and several men in dark uniforms stood in the doorway, their faces serious.

“Olivia Parker?” one of them said. “We received a report that you broke into a private residence and stole trade secrets involving a significant financial loss.

I froze, then whipped my head toward Mr. Whitmore and shook my head over and over.

“No. That’s not true. I didn’t do that.”

Mrs. Whitmore stood to the side, took a folder from her purse, and handed it to the man in charge. “Here is our report and the evidence inventory. Thank you for your help.”

At that moment, Vanessa stepped forward. She reached out and traced her fingers across my face, a flash of jealousy cutting through her eyes.

“Uncle Charles, Aunt Chloe, wouldn’t it be better to handle this cleanly?”

“Slash up her face first, then send her to prison.”

“Even if Adrian gets his memory back, one look at that face will make him sick.”

Mrs. Whitmore was silent for a while. Then she slowly nodded. “Vanessa is right. She thought this through.”

I was still chained tightly to the bed, my wrists and ankles locked in metal cuffs. I couldn’t move at all.

“No. Please, don’t…”

Vanessa had already come closer with a small knife in her hand. She tapped the flat of the blade against my cheek.

“Don’t worry. I’ll be quick.”

He has refused to marry anyone all these years. Once he regains his memory and sees your ruined face, maybe he’ll finally let go.”

I closed my eyes in despair.

Just then, the door was pushed open.

Leo forced his way through the people blocking the entrance and rushed inside with everything he had.

“Ma’am, please let my mom go. Please don’t hurt her.”

He cried as he barreled straight into Mrs. Whitmore.

Caught off guard, Mrs. Whitmore stumbled.

She lowered her head, and the angry words on the tip of her tongue froze in her mouth.

“Goodness, whose little brat…”

That face.

Mrs. Whitmore froze.

His eyes. His nose. He looked exactly like Adrian had when he was a little boy.

At the same time, Mr. Whitmore looked down and stared at Leo in a daze.

Looking at that small face, he scooped Leo up in disbelief, his voice trembling with excitement. “Little boy, whose child are you?”

Leo was frightened by the scene. His voice shook as he cried, “Sir, Olivia is my mom. Please let my mom go.”

“I don’t have a dad. She raised me all by herself, and it’s been really hard for her. Please don’t bully her.”
