Twelve-Year-Love With An Alpha, He Betrayed Me And Marked An Omega Chapter 04

Nellie’s POV

Carrion laid bare the cruel truths, one word at a time.

“When I went looking for the moonstone to make your ring, I found Madeline injured in the mountains.”

“She was only a fragile Omega. I saved her.”

“After I brought her back to Nightfall Pack, some malicious werewolves ambushed her. When I rushed to rescue her, she was barely conscious and kissed me. I couldn’t hold back, and then we…”

“I tried to cut it off, but she had no one in her own pack. For eight years, she stayed by my side in silence and never asked for a title. I should take responsibility for her.”

So those twelve years and those eight years were not merely overlapping timelines.

While I had been holding that mate ring and smiling like a fool, Carrion had been having sex with that Omega.

While I had been roasting his favorite lamb for him in the pack house, he had been eating pasta cooked by that Omega.

All the happiness I thought I had was nothing but evidence of his betrayal.

“Enough! I don’t want to hear another word about your filthy past. Get out!”

I bit down hard on Carrion’s shoulder.

The taste of blood flooded my mouth. He trembled from the pain, but he did not fight back.

Enduring the pain, Carrion gently stroked my hair.

“Although I gave Madeline the title of Luna, I’ll divide everything else fairly between the two of you.”

“Love, money, companionship, and my care for Mrs. Vesper will not change.”

“Also, I heard a healing witch recently developed a special treatment that works well on severe illnesses in werewolves. When should we take Mrs. Vesper to try it?”

Powerless, I closed my eyes and stopped biting him.

Over the years, Carrion had bought me everything I wanted without ever caring about the price.

He had gone with me anywhere I wanted to go, even if it meant canceling pack meetings.

When my mother fell ill, he had even used his Alpha privileges to instruct the Pack Healer late at night to use every pack resource available to treat her.

Carrion had also been the one paying the massive medical bills all this time.

Carrion truly had been good to me.

If Madeline had not existed, perhaps I would have been the happiest she-wolf in the world.

I could not leave Carrion, at least not before my mother recovered.

The days settled into an eerie calm.

I still lived in the pack house and did not move out. During the day, I worked at the pack council hall, and at night, I went to take care of my mother.

Carrion was busy spending his time with the Omega he had just introduced to the pack as its Luna, so he rarely contacted me.

That was fine. For me, it was almost a relief.

That day, I brought an insulated lunchbox with me and went to keep my mother company as usual.

When I walked into the hospital room, two young women were sitting around her bed.

I rushed forward. When they turned around, I saw Irinda and Madeline.

Even my voice shook.

“Irinda, why did you bring her here?”

My mother smiled at me and explained, “Irinda was afraid I’d be bored, so she brought her friend to chat with me.”

“I’ve never met a werewolf as gentle and kind as Madeline. What kind of bastard takes a mistress behind his mate’s back?”

“Don’t worry, Madeline. Any werewolf who interferes with a mate bond will be cursed by The Moon Goddess.”

Madeline stood and walked over to me.

She rolled her eyes at me, then turned toward my mother with a smile that was both gentle and cruel.

“Mrs. Vesper, you’re right. They will be cursed by The Moon Goddess.”

“So when will your daughter be cursed? Oh, wait. The curse has already come true. It only landed on you instead. Late-stage cancer… I suppose I can live with that.”

My mother’s face turned deathly pale. She forced her weak body upright and glared at Madeline.

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

Irinda pulled out the photos of Carrion kissing Madeline at the marking ceremony and threw them in my mother’s face.

“It’s true. Nellie Vesper is the one who interfered with the mate bond between Alpha Carrion and Madeline.”

“Look at them. They’ve already marked each other. Madeline is the real Luna. Nellie Vesper is the one occupying the pack house, and you’re still accepting special medical resources from Alpha Carrion. Madeline has every right to take it all back.”

December nineteenth was the Winter Moon Festival, Nellie’s birthday.

My mother stared at those painful photos, then suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood.

“Mom!”
