Twelve-Year-Love With An Alpha, He Betrayed Me And Marked An Omega Chapter 03

Twelve-Year-Love With An Alpha, He Betrayed Me And Marked An Omega Chapter 03

Nellie’s POV

I was just about to unleash my anger when Irinda suddenly coughed twice and spoke before I could.

“Nellie, don’t take this too far. Madeline and Alpha Carrion did nothing wrong. A bond guided by The Moon Goddess was never something ordinary logic could explain.”

“As your best friend, I’m telling you this for your own good. If you let go, everything ends peacefully. But if you make this ugly and ruin your reputation, you may never find a mate at all.”

I stared at Irinda, my closest friend, in shock. My throat felt as if a clump of fur had lodged there, and I could not force out a single word.

Then Carrion’s sister and the rest of our mutual friends joined in.

“Nellie, you’ve always been kind. Madeline is only a fragile Omega. But pack rules are pack rules. Carrion can only have one mate.”

“Nellie, just let him go. We can all see the Alpha has truly fallen for Madeline. Don’t force him to stay.”

Carrion and Madeline leaned tightly against each other while the other pack members stood behind them, building an invisible wall.

And I was the threat they had to guard against.

It felt as if my wolf had been ripped out of my body in an instant. All the strength drained from me.

I slipped the moonstone ring, now dull and lifeless, off my ring finger and gently placed it on the table.

With it, I returned twelve years of youth, love, and friendship.

“Fine. I’m stepping aside.”

“Nellie!”

Carrion called my name sharply, but I did not stop, and I did not look back.

At the pack medical center, color had returned to my mother’s face.

She handed me a peeled apple, then tilted her head and kept trying to look at my neck, which I had deliberately covered with my hair.

“Nellie, did the Alpha mark you? Hurry and let me see.”

Bitterness pressed so heavily in my chest that I could barely breathe.

I did not know how to explain it to my mother, and I could not bear to let her know the truth.

Just as I was about to gather the courage to confess, Carrion suddenly walked in.

He sat down by the bed and, just like before, attentively massaged my mother’s shoulders. With a gentle low laugh, he said, “Nellie is just shy. She isn’t used to being Luna yet. Once the mark stops hurting so much in a couple of days, we’ll let you see it.”

Every word out of Carrion’s mouth sounded like tender concern for me. My mother was so moved that tears filled her eyes, and for the moment, she failed to notice anything wrong between us.

With a dark expression, I pulled Carrion out of the room.

“I already stepped aside. What else do you want from me?”

With the same familiar tenderness as always, Carrion gently tucked a stray lock of hair behind my ear. He looked at me and sighed.

“Nellie, we’ve loved each other for twelve years. Can you really bear to leave me?”

What did it matter if I could not bear it?

He was someone else’s mate now.

With red-rimmed eyes, I glared at Carrion and let out a humorless laugh.

“No matter what, I’ll keep my promise.”

I turned to leave, but Carrion suddenly blocked my path with his body.

He grabbed my shoulders and, losing control, pulled me tightly into his arms.

“But I can’t bear to lose you.”

His embrace was too tight. I pushed against him with all my strength, but I could not break free.
