Luna Returned for Vengeance Chapter 05

Luna Returned for Vengeance Chapter 05

Nora’s POV

I sat alone in the hallway of the Pack Hospital for a long time without moving.

Every single blood relative I had passed away one after another.

And the people who killed them were still alive. Still living well. Still standing high and mighty.

How could this happen?

How could any of this be fair?

I cried my heart out. Hatred gnawed at me relentlessly.

I couldn’t take it anymore. I stormed straight toward the VIP ward. I was going to make them explain themselves.

But just as I got close, I heard Sophie’s father, Victor Lang, speaking inside.

“Ethan, you’ve worked so hard all these years. If you hadn’t stayed by Sophie’s side, we truly wouldn’t know what to do.”

Ethan’s low voice answered.

“Daniel died saving me. And because of her brother’s death, Sophie was diagnosed with fragile she-wolf syndrome. Her emotions have never been stable. It’s only right that I take care of her for the rest of my life.”

I froze just outside the door.

So that was it.

That was why, no matter what Sophie did, he always protected her.

He only wanted to repay a favor—so why did my family have to suffer the consequences?

I clenched my fists and was about to kick the door open when Victor sighed heavily.

“What are you going to do about that Nora girl? Her parents’ deaths are tied to Sophie, after all. Now that she’s back in New York, she won’t let this go. My biggest fear is that she’ll upset Sophie again.”

There was a few seconds of silence in the room.

Then Ethan spoke, his tone flat.

“Her mother’s death was a pure accident. Her father was already in critical condition. Even if Sophie hadn’t agitated him during that visit, he would not have survived long. Besides, it’s been years. Even if she tries to take us to court, we have nothing to fear.”

My mind went completely blank.

My father… had been provoked to death by Sophie?

Why had no one ever told me?

Why?

My whole body started shaking. A sharp buzzing rang in my ears.

All the pain and anger I’d carried all these years was only scratching the surface.

And the people inside that room talked about my parents’ deaths like they were nothing. Like it was all just some trivial little matter.

Hatred crashed through my chest. My wolf thrashed frantically inside my chest.

I lost control completely.

I kicked the door open.

Ethan’s face darkened instantly. He said my name on instinct—”Nora”—but I was already on him.

I slapped him across the face as hard as I could. His head snapped to the side.

My eyes red, I lunged for the bed. Sophie had been resting with her eyes closed, leaning back against the pillows. I grabbed her and yanked her upright.

“Killing my mom wasn’t enough for you—you even hunted down my father and grandmother!”

I raised my hand to hit her—

But someone caught my wrist.

Ethan, again. His Alpha aura crashed down on me in an instant, shoving itself between me and Sophie. He frowned, his voice low.

“Nora. Calm down.”

I looked up at him, tears falling hard and fast.

“How could I possibly calm down? You destroyed my whole family! And now my grandmother is dead too! Ethan, I will tear you all apart!”

Sophie started crying. She clutched Victor’s sleeve, trembling.

“Dad… I’m terrified… She’s completely lost her sanity…”

Victor’s face went dark. He spoke, ice cold.

“Enforcers? Drag this hysterical woman out immediately.”

Several Lang family enforcers in black suits rushed in.

I stared at Victor, my teeth grinding together.

“What’s wrong?” I hissed. “Are you going to tie me up and take those degrading photos again, just like you did five years ago?”
