Luna Returned for Vengeance Chapter 06

Nora’s POV

Ethan stared at me, his eyes swirling with countless emotions I couldn’t decipher.

“What did you just say?”

My chest heaved. My eyes burned red.

“I said Victor kidnapped me. And he used those photos to threaten me!”

A flash of panic crossed Victor’s face. It was unmistakable.

But Ethan just frowned, his voice going hard.

“That’s enough, Nora. Mr. Lang has always been upright and reputable, and the Lang family has never committed any illegal acts. Stop slandering others with baseless rumors.”

It felt like a knife going straight through my heart.

Of course. Even now, he still didn’t believe me.

He had never been on my side.

Tears blurred my vision. My voice came out raw and broken.

“Of course you don’t believe me. In your eyes, Sophie is always innocent. The Lang family is always clean. And I’m forever the unreasonable, hysterical lunatic in your eyes.”

I wiped my tears.

“But that’s fine. Someday, I will claim my justice with my own hands.”

Ethan just stared at me, frozen.

Victor was panicking now. His face hardened.

“Enforcers! What are you waiting for? Drag her out!”

The enforcers lunged at me. I fought them with everything I had.

“Let go of me! You animals!”

Ethan frowned slightly and spoke up.

“Mr. Lang. Her grandmother just died. She’s not stable. Don’t bother with her. Just send her home.”

Victor nodded immediately.

“Of course. I won’t waste my time arguing with someone who’s mentally unwell. You stay here and take care of Sophie. I’ll escort Nora out.”

Then he turned to look at me.

Something cold flickered in his eyes.

I was dragged out of the Pack Hospital, kicking and screaming the whole way. No one listened to me.

We finally stopped in the underground parking garage.

Victor looked at me with cold, venomous eyes.

“Nora. Why do you never know your place?”

I stared right back at him.

“One day, all of you will pay for what you’ve done.”

Victor laughed.

“Pay? In New York, influential Alpha families make the rules. You’re nothing but a lowly she-wolf trampled in the mud. What could you possibly use to defy me?”

A moment later, several men in white coats walked over.

The middle-aged man leading them bowed respectfully.

“Mr. Lang, the admission paperwork is ready.”

Victor smiled, slow and satisfied.

“Nora suffers from extreme mood swings and severe violent tendencies. She requires mandatory closed-off psychiatric treatment. Take good care of her.”

That was when I understood.

He was locking me away in a private psychiatric institution.

“Are you insane? I’m not sick!”

I fought with everything I had. But the men held me down like I weighed nothing.

Victor looked down at me from above.

“Nora,” he said, “do you really think anyone would believe you now?”

He pulled out his phone and opened an album.

The photos. The nightmare ones.

My mind went blank. All the blood drained from my face.

If Claire hadn’t risked everything to save me back then, those photos would have been the least of what happened.

Victor watched my reaction, clearly pleased.

“I’ve held onto these all these years. What do you think would happen if I posted them right now?”

My whole body shook. My eyes burned red.

“You monster. Your whole family is made of monsters.”

A hard blow cracked across my face. My head snapped to the side. My ears rang.

One of the men pulled out a syringe. The clear liquid gleamed under the cold lights.

My wolf thrashed inside me, wild and desperate. But their Alpha aura and the weight of too many unfamiliar wolves pressed down on me, and I couldn’t move.

I panicked.

“Let me go! Help! I’m not crazy!”

No one listened. They just held me down, cold and indifferent. The needle came closer and closer.

It was almost at my skin.

I didn’t know it then, but later I found out: Lucian was attending an international pack conference call overseas when a tearing pain ripped through his chest. Our true mate bond had long been fully sealed.

He ended the meeting mid-sentence and came for me, rushing over with an officially approved cross-district protection warrant issued by the Central Pack Council.

Brakes cut through the air like a blade.

A cold, sharp male voice rang out across the garage.

” I dare anyone here to lay a finger on her.”

A black luxury car stopped just a few feet away.

The door opened, and a man stepped out—black coat, broad shoulders, long legs.

The domineering aura of a supreme Alpha instantly enveloped the entire underground parking garage.

The moment he saw me pinned helpless on the ground, his gaze turned terrifyingly dark with raging fury.
