Silenced Omega Chapter 17By Novel7s / June 8, 2026 Silenced Omega Chapter 17Archer led them away.Laney curled up under the old boat, the reek of fish thick in the air. Her heart pounded against her ribs.Preston didn’t just want her dead.He wanted Archer dead, too.Laney clenched her teeth and slowly crawled out from under the boat. She couldn’t hide here and let Archer die for her.Dragging her injured leg, she moved toward the sounds of the fight. After pushing through a dense grove of pine trees, she saw Archer, surrounded by two men, while a third searched the area.He was looking for her.Laney took a breath and stepped out from behind a tree.Everyone froze. She moved her lips, forming a silent message for the hunter who had been searching.“I’m here. Let him go.”The lead hunter smiled.“Miss Bennett. How very noble.”“Mr. Doyle wants you dead. As for Mr. Archer…”He looked at Archer, who was breathing hard, his chest heaving. Greed flashed in the hunter’s eyes.“His head is worth a pretty penny on the black market. We’re not letting him go.”Laney’s heart sank.Preston had put a bounty on Archer’s head.Laney looked at the hunters and mouthed again.“Let him go. I’ll go back with you.”The hunter clearly understood her.“Sure. Come over here.”Laney took a few steps forward.Just as the man reached for her, she suddenly drove her elbow hard into his throat. The hunter staggered back, his expression twisting in pain and fury.“You’re asking for it.”He drew the Glock from his hip and aimed it at Laney.Laney moved even faster. She snatched the other pistol from his belt and pressed it to his temple. The scene froze. The hunter stared at her trembling hand and laughed.“You won’t shoot. A sheltered little thing like you has probably never even killed a chicken.”He was right.Laney’s finger was on the trigger, but she couldn’t make herself pull it.*Bang.*A gunshot shattered the silence.
