Divorced & Dying The Mafia Boss Regrets Everything Chapter 06

Duminic’s face turned ugly. After a moment of silence, he let out a sneer. “Fine, Grace…”

“So brave, are you?”

He was furious. He grabbed her chin and forced her to face him. “Let’s see how long you can keep up this

tough act.”

“Take care of yourself.”

The door slammed shut. Grace clenched her jaw against the pain, and a thin trickle of blood seeped from the

corner of her mouth.

Three days later came the charity gala. Everyone who was anyone in New York attended.

Among the crowd was a man with slicked–back hair, sharp features, and a pale gold suit that drew every eye. Many socialites vied to make an impression on him.

That was Liam Bronson, a rising star on Wall Street and an arms dealer in the underworld.

Liam looked expectantly at the woman beside Dominic. The moment he recognized her face, he couldn’t hide his surprise. “…Where’s your former partner?”

Dominic snapped back to attention. He recognized Liam from a single past collaboration. After that one deal, Liam had asked around about Grace, only to disappear when he learned she was married.

Hearing Liam bring up Grace, Dominic’s eyes turned cold. He pulled Sienna close–she had been staring at Liam, her heart racing–and dismissed him curtly in English.

“This is my partner.”

“Your taste… has really gone

downhill!”

Sienna’s face went pale. She gripped her glass so hard it nearly shattered. Meanwhile, Dominic, lost in his

r own thoughts, shot Liam a cold look and said sharply, “Mind your own business.”

Suddenly, there was a commotion at the door, and everyone’s attention was drawn to it.

“She actually dared to come?”

“Keep your voice down, or she’ll take revenge on you later…”

A single look from Grace silenced the two young socialites, who were quickly whisked away by their families.

She was beautiful even without makeup. With her bold cosmetics, she was so stunning that no one could look away. Even the men who knew how ruthless she could be found themselves tempted to take a chance.

After all, Dominic had a new partner now. He probably wouldn’t care.

Liam couldn’t hide his delight. He pushed through the crowd and walked straight toward her.

The glass she had just taken was touched with a soft clink. Grace raised her lazy eyes to glance at Liam, then lifted her own glass in return

If Finnegan hadn’t begged her to come, she wouldn’t have wanted to get involved.

Not far away, Dominic hadn’t taken his eyes off Grace since she appeared. He had to grit his teeth and admit that even after leaving him, she still shone just as brightly.

As if she felt his gaze, Grace looked in his direction, raised her glass in a toast, took a small sip, then turned back to Liam, who was gesturing enthusiastically, and gave a casual nod.

Dominic forced himself to look away. He let go of Sienna, muttered a few words, and headed for the

restroom.

Sienna dropped her fake gentle smile. Jealousy burned in her eyes. She stared hard at Grace, picked up her glass, and walked over.

Liam was talking a mile a minute, his face full of excitement.

Grace picked up the conversation naturally, but she cast a haughty look at Sienna standing idly by, with a faint contempt at the corner of her mouth.

“Mr. Bronson, don’t waste your breath on her. Someone from the slums can’t understand the refined language you’re using.”

Grace ignored the mockery in her eyes and started to turn away, but her wrist was suddenly caught.

“Miss Grace, no… don’t ignore me.”

Grace looked surprised for a second, then heard Liam frown and say something else to Sienna. Sienna’s face twisted as if she had swallowed a fly.

“You’d better keep your mouth shut and stop spreading lies. Please also tell Dominic that I plan to pursue

Grace.”

Grace politely pushed Liam’s hand away and walked toward the restroom, ignoring his disappointment. “A fickle woman like you–no wonder Dominic doesn’t love you!”

Grace looked up at those words. In the mirror, she saw Sienna behind her, staring at her with disgust. Grace smiled back at her, warm and charming, making Sienna take a step back in alarm.

“What’s the matter? Haven’t managed to get Dominic to marry you yet, so you’re taking it out on me?”

“You…”

Enough talk. Looks like Dominic doesn’t take you seriously either.”

Grace had just dried her hands when a pungent smoke sinell started leaking through the crack in the door.

She frowned, shoved Sienna out of the way, and turned the scorching doorkrob.

Screams erupted around her as the flames pressed closer. Grace took a breath, her head splitting, and struggled to ignore the panicked voices behind her.

A tall figure burst out of the fire. Sienna pulled her out of the way and threw herself into his arms.

Grace looked up and met his eyes. She saw the hand reaching toward her. The moment Sienna cried, “I’m pregnant,” Dominic withdrew his hand, turned away, and left without looking back.

Grace leaned against the hot wall, lowered her head, and laughed until tears came.

Of course.
