The Gaming God Hated Clingy Girls Until He Met Me Chapter 05

After downing a few glasses of Cabernet, a pleasant buzz quickly washed over me.

Feeling bold, I slipped off my shoe and gently grazed my foot against Ethan’s trouser leg, slowly tracing my

way up.

He shifted to avoid me, but I immediately pressed right back in.

Except this time, I pushed a bit too far and bumped into something solid and incredibly firm.

Ethan’s eyes locked onto mine, his voice dropping to a low, rough growl. “Lily, stop playing around. My

patience isn’t as limitless as you think.”

I froze for a second, sensing a dark intensity in him that felt entirely different from his usual calm self.

He carefully cut a fresh slice of steak and placed it on my plate.

“You’re still growing, kid. Eat up.”

That line hit a nerve.

I was calling him ‘hubby’ and ‘big boy’ to flirt, not because I actually wanted him to treat me like a child.

Fueled by liquid courage, I grabbed Ethan by his collar, forcefully pulling him down into my seat, before straddling his lap completely. I let out a sweet, dripping voice.

“Ethan, does a little kid do something like this to you?”

“Get up, or I’m throwing you out the window,” Ethan warned, giving me a sharp, firm swat right on my hip.

It wasn’t painful, but a wave of intense heat rushed through me.

“You wouldn’t dare.” Completely dazed, I stared at his beautifully defined lips and leaned down. Just as our lips were about to touch, a sharp knock suddenly echoed from the booth door.

Startled, I flinched, my lips brushing clumsily past his cheek. My elbow slammed hard into the edge of the table, instantly flaring bright red.

“Lily, are you made of glass?”

Despite his exasperated words, the way his hands checked my arm was incredibly gentle.

In the next second, the door swung wide open.

The romantic tension in the room instantly curdled into an agonizingly awkward standoff.

I followed his gaze to the doorway. A beautiful woman stood there-tall, impeccably dressed, carrying an air

of classical elegance.

But the sharp, judgmental look she used to sweep over me made me instantly uncomfortable.

The woman froze at the entrance, looking utterly shocked.

“Ethan, oh my goodness. I’m so sorry, am I interrupting something?”

“What are you doing here?” Ethan immediately pulled away from me, his face instantly reverting to his

trademark chilly, unbothered expression.

“My dad recently sourced a few rare bottles of wine, and he wanted to invite you and your parents over this

weekend for a tasting.”

“I couldn’t get ahold of you, so I asked the guys at your esports base. They told me you were having lunch

here. I had no idea you were with company, otherwise I wouldn’t have barged in. My apologies.”

The elegant woman offered me a polite nod of apology.

I immediately fired back a dazzlingly sweet smile.

Hey, I practically just kissed my dream guy. I was in such a good mood I could be nice to the entire world.

Despite the awkwardness, Ethan’s elite upbringing kicked in, and he calmly introduced us.

“This is Audrey Vance. She was in Chase’s class back in college.”

“And this is Lily Miller, Chase’s little sister.”

Hearing that title, I pouted in annoyance.

Just you wait, Ethan. Sooner or later, I’m going to make you replace ‘Chase’s sister’ with ‘my girlfriend.’

Audrey smiled, extending a hand to shake mine.

“Ah, I’ve heard of you. The star of Riverdale University. You have quite the crowd chasing after you, even

more popular than your brother back in his day.”

I accepted the compliment gracefully, giving her a playful wink. “Thank you! But I’m actually nothing like my

brother. I’m incredibly loyal to one person.”

That last part was directed entirely at Ethan.

Audrey glanced at the roses and candles on our table, her eyes dimming slightly.

“I heard the food here is spectacular, so I booked a private booth just next door. I’ll head over now.”

Ethan’s face didn’t betray a single emotion, and he made zero effort to ask her to stay. “Sounds good.”

I think I finally understood why a guy as devastatingly handsome as Ethan didn’t have a massive trail of

fangirls.

If my fave were this clueless and stone-faced, I would have unstanned and become his biggest hater years

ago.
