The Gaming God Hated Clingy Girls Until He Met Me Chapter 04

The host gave an excited chuckle, deliberately reading my username out loud. “Alright, Ethan’s Wife, tell us your wish.”

The camera feed linked up, and the moment my eyes locked with Ethan’s, his dark pupils contracted slightly, a flicker of genuine shock crossing his face.

“Ethan,” I said, resting my chin in both hands, flashing him an adorable, pouty smile. “Can I have a kiss?”

In front of hundreds of thousands of live viewers, Ethan calmly replied, “No.”

The chat instantly exploded with comments.

[Holy crap, this girl is an absolute legend for asking that.]

I pushed further, “Can I come over to your place and see your abs then?”

Ethan gave a textbook, unbothered reply. “No.”

“Then I just want you to call me ‘wifey’ or ‘babe’ once…”

“In your dreams.”

It felt like I was talking to an incredibly advanced AI, and I was having the absolute time of my life.

“You’re so amazing, Ethan. I was totally misled by my brother earlier. Your fingers are so incredibly agile, and your hands are so pretty…”

It’d be even better if those fingers were pinned against my waist, I added silently in my head, keeping that scandalous thought to myself.

Ethan maintained his polite, chilly demeanor, effortlessly shutting down every single one of my chaotic advances.

With the stream drawing to a close, I finally threw out my real request.

“Take me out to dinner, Ethan.”

This time, Ethan paused, then finally spoke. “Okay.”

“Love you, hubby!” Having successfully secured my prize, I blew a dramatic kiss to the camera and immediately disconnected the call.

The host was grinning from ear to ear, and the chat was losing its absolute mind.

[Oh my god, she is a literal angel. I don’t know if Ethan was charmed, but I am fully obsessed with her.]

[I can’t believe we just witnessed a whole rom-com unfold live on a professional gaming stream. This is wild.]

[As an OG fan, this is literally the first time I’ve ever seen an actual girl enter Ethan’s orbit. Are we sure they aren’t dating? Because if no one clarifies, I’m starting the rumors right now.]

[A bold, direct girl is the ultimate weakness for a quiet, brooding guy. I put fifty bucks down that she locks him down.]

[No way, that girl goes to Riverdale University with me. She’s a known social butterfly. Ethan’s world and hers are completely different.]

On the evening of our dinner date, I was so excited I woke up at six in the morning.

To get ready for the night, I picked out the absolute prettiest dress in my closet, pairing it with my favorite pink ribbon accent.

I spent a full two hours perfecting a flawless “no-makeup” look.

Spinning around in front of my roommate, I asked, “How do I look?”

She gave me an enthusiastic thumbs-up. “A literal Disney princess.”

Satisfied, I took a cab and arrived at the high-end steakhouse forty minutes early, immediately ordering a single-person meal.

That way, when Ethan arrived, I could just take a few dainty bites and claim I was already full to maintain my delicate image.

The ribeye steak was absolutely delicious. I was happily devouring it with my head down when I vaguely heard someone call my name. I looked up, only to find Ethan staring down at me with an incredibly complex expression.

Even in such an embarrassing predicament, I couldn’t help but admire his looks for a few seconds.

Unlike his usual casual look, he was dressed formally tonight.

His crisp white shirt was buttoned all the way to the top, and his long legs were framed perfectly by tailored black trousers. The sheer, forbidden vibe of his outfit made him look insanely attractive.

I couldn’t help but wonder if he knew I had a thing for formal wear and dressed like this on purpose to torment me.

“The waiter just brought this steak over on the house… I told him I didn’t want it, but he insisted…” I offered a wildly defensive explanation.

Ethan listened to my blatant lie, the corner of his mouth twitching into a barely perceptible smile.

The waiter walked over, handing us the menus.

Ethan asked, “What else would you like to order?”

Quickly switching back into my charming persona, I beamed, “Oh, I’m actually stuffed! I have a really small appetite. You should just order for yourself, Ethan.”

The waiter blinked in utter confusion. “Miss Miller, in that case, do you still want the large order of loaded Mac & Cheese you placed alongside the steak?”

The private dining booth fell into a dead, suffocating silence.

In the end, Ethan quietly wrapped up the order by selecting a few signature dishes.
