Ethan still wanted to keep pestering me. 

But because my dad was worried that I had been downstairs for so long, he came down to look for me. 

Ethan could only watch unwillingly as my dad and I went back 

upstairs. 

For the next several days, Ethan still refused to give up and 

kept coming to find me. 

He was annoying. 

He kept repeating things like “It was all a misunderstanding,” “Things between us aren’t like that,” and “Give me one more chance.” 

Those words were so fake and laughable. 

What hid behind them wasn’t Ethan’s belated love. 

It was his pride as a lawyer, as an elite man. 

He couldn’t accept that he was the one who had been 

abandoned. 

It disrupted my life badly. 

But calling the police felt too troublesome. 

I didn’t have the energy to handle that kind of thing. 

So I simply asked my company for time off and went traveling for a while. 

During that trip, Ethan no longer bothered me, and I finally 

had peace. 

The only thing I hadn’t expected was that in the next city, I 

would run into Zachary Gould at a scenic spot. 

“What a coincidence. I never thought the world could be this big, and we’d still meet.” 

I pressed my lips together and smiled. 

Of course I knew Zachary said it on purpose. 

One look told me he had gotten my itinerary from my parents. 

He really had the nerve to say it that directly. 

Still, traveling with Zachary wasn’t unpleasant. 

Every time we reached a new place, Zachary planned ahead. 

No matter what I said or did, he responded to me. 

He never acted like Ethan, who would say, “Handle your own problems.” 

Once, when we encountered a mudslide, he shielded me with his body immediately. 

Because of that, his right foot was injured, and he had to be hospitalized. 

Our trip was forced to pause. 

During that time, I stayed at the hospital and took care of him. 

Our relationship grew closer because of it.
