The entire office fell silent

I walked over to them.

The moment those words left my mouth, Eleanor exploded.

She yanked her arm away from Clara and stormed toward me.

“She came to my office, screamed insults at me in front of everyone, and threw hot coffee on me.”

“You filing for divorce made her angry.”

“Just come home with me.”

“We’ll pretend none of this happened.”

“Vivian, Ethan hasn’t been eating or sleeping because of you.”

“Please stop making things harder than they need to be.”

I slipped off my coffee-soaked blazer and tossed it straight into the trash.
