All I had lost, all the suffering I endured, all stemmed from her petty jealousy.

“Jade, I swear I truly knew nothing back then. I was utterly blinded by hatred.”

He broke down in tears, his whole body shaking uncontrollably.

For seven long years, I had waited endlessly for this very moment-watching Enzo kneel low, admit his mistakes and beg for forgiveness.

I once thought I would burst into wild laughter or scream out all my pent-up agony.

“Enzo,” I spoke softly, “do you have any idea what these seven years have been like for me?”

Smiling through endless nights dealing with drunken clients, rushing to the hospital to keep my father company after dark. Sleeping rough in public parks with my little boy when I could no longer

afford rent.

Surviving on nothing but a single loaf of bread each day just to save up money for Leo’s formula. Fainting from excessive blood donations to scrape together cash, Scavenging through trash cans while being chased down by stray feral dogs.

Every single bit of this pain was brought upon me by the man standing right in front of me.

I crouched down to meet his bloodshot eyes. “Do you think a simple apology can erase all of this?”

He grabbed my hand and pressed it firmly against his tear-soaked cheek. “Tell me what to do. Anything at all. I’ll do it without hesitation.”

I pulled my hand away harshly. “First, you must expose the full truth publicly to the whole world and restore my father’s ruined reputation.”

“Second, take Mia to meet my father in person. Confess face to face how the two of you schemed and framed him.”

He agreed without the slightest hesitation. “Anything you want, I’ll do it all.”

“I haven’t finished yet,” I said coldly. “Once all that is done, you must vanish completely from our

lives forever.”

His face turned deathly pale in an instant.

“Jade, please don’t push me away. Let me make things right for you and for our child.”

I turned my back on him.

“The only thing you can ever do now is stay far away from me.”
