After Zayne left the hospital, he still didn’t give up. He 

went to the Brooklyn Navy Yard every day to look for 

Renee. 

The Bellandi Family was falling apart without a leader. 

Their rivals almost destroyed them. 

The old Don came to see him and ordered him to come 

back and run the family. 

Zayne agreed. 

But he had one condition. 

That night, Silas crashed his car on the West Side 

Highway. He died instantly. 

After seeing the news, Zayne went back to work. In less than half a day, the Bellandi Family took back all their 

territory. 

He worked during the day. But every night, he went 

back to the Navy Yard. 

If no one was watching, he’d jump straight into the 

water. 

Then he’d end up in the hospital again. 

Over and over. 

He was convinced his love would come back. 

He’d fallen for Renee the second he saw her at that 

club. 

She was his first woman. And his last. 

He wanted to tell her so badly.

Two months later, Zayne lost his mind. 

Everyone in Rome knew Renee was Don Zayne’s 

greatest love. 

He searched for her while he received treatment. 

The last time he went to the water, he was completely delirious. He started hallucinating. 

He heard Renee speak to him. 

“Zayne, I’m leaving. Don’t forget to feed Pumpkin.” 

Zayne stared at Pumpkin climbing her cat tree and scoffed. 

“Renee, do you really think I’d neglect her?” 

“She’s never missed a meal. She’s already a fat ball.” 

Pumpkin didn’t like that. She ran to where Renee was standing, wanting to go with her. 

Zayne laughed and held her back. 

“R, let’s go together.” 

“We’ll never be apart again.” 

With that, Zayne jumped into the ocean without 

hesitation. 

At that exact moment, Bellandi News Network was live 

on prime time. 

“Temperatures have dropped sharply in Rome. Experts say a blizzard is possible. Stay warm if you go out.” 

Less than ten minutes later. 

Snowflakes started falling from the sky. 

Rome was covered in white. 

Some people cheered. 

Others kissed in the snow.
