When Rome Finally Snowed, The Don Lost Me Chapter 12

An hour later, the rescue team still hadn’t found Renee. 

Zayne used every connection he had. 

“I don’t care if we have to drain the ocean. Find 

Renee!” 

He suddenly remembered something and spoke 

viciously. 

“From now on, lock down every Bellandicontrolled dock, private airstrip, marina, and shipping route out 

of Rome.” 

“Everyone leaving the city gets searched thoroughly.” 

Once he gave the orders, he put on professional diving gear and prepared to go back in. 

A butler stopped him at the water’s edge. 

“Don, the typhoon’s still here.” 

“There’s a strong rip current. If you get caught, you’ll be pulled out to sea. Miss Renee… she’s probably 

gone.” 

A sharp, cold pain shot through Zayne’s body. He 

started shaking. 

He gritted his teeth and punched the butler. 

“Shut up! Renee’s still alive!” 

“Our baby’s okay too!” 

By seven that night, the Brooklyn Navy Yard was still 

lit up like daytime. 

The water was sixty feet deep. It was like looking for a 

needle in a haystack. 

Rescue teams rotated in and out. No one found Renee. 

Zayne didn’t rest for a second. 

He kept going even when his oxygen tank ran out. 

He finally passed out from lack of oxygen and was 

rushed to the hospital. 

He woke up three days later. 

“Zayne, you’re awake!” 

Celine looked overjoyed. 

Zayne’s red eyes were wild, like a wounded animal. 

“Celine, did you really think I wanted to marry you?” 

“I only did it for your family’s deed to the Brooklyn 

Navy Yard. It’s mine now. You’re useless.” 

“Get out of here.” 

Celine froze. 

“Zayne, what are you talking about? We signed a shortterm lease last week!” 

Zayne glanced at her coldly and smiled cruelly. 

“Go check the contract again.” 

“You signed whatever I put in front of you. So stupid you didn’t even realize you sold the land outright.” 

Celine went stiff. Her eyes went wide with shock. 

The Brooklyn Navy Yard was the only thing that kept 

the Hart family relevant in Rome. 

She’d just given it away. 

“Zayne, you can’t do this to me. My dad will kill me.” 

Zayne stood up and wrapped his hands around her 

throat. 

“Celine, I found out you told Silas about Renee’s 

pregnancy.” 

“If you hadn’t, she never would’ve gotten hurt.” 

“You’re a killer. You killed my Renee. You killed our baby.” 

“I’ll choke you to death before your dad gets the chance.” 

Celine’s face turned red. She couldn’t breathe. 

Helena rushed in and pulled her away. 

After Celine left, Zayne tried to go back to the Navy 

Yard to find Renee. 

He didn’t make it out of the hospital room, then he collapsed from weakness. 

Helena felt terrible. 

If she could go back three days, she would’ve stopped 

Silas. She would’ve saved Renee.
