The moment I got home, I saw the overturned cat bowl on the

floor.

Next to it was my huge fat cat, lying there with a grumpy face.

“Okay, okay. I was only a tiny bit late because of the rain. Don’t be mad, Your Highness.”

I opened a can of food, mixed it into the kibble, and respectfully set it on his little dining table.

A second later, my phone rang.

Adrian’s cold voice came through.

“You forgot the gifts for the kid.”

I looked at my fat cat, who was busy eating, and answered

casually:

“Forget it. He’d probably wreck them anyway.”

“Judy.” His voice suddenly dropped.

“Yeah?”

“Divorce your husband. I’ll be your husband.”

I froze for a few seconds.

Then I laughed.

“Mr. Kane, now you’re harassing me again.”

“Then report me! I’m really going crazy!”

His voice suddenly rose, full of frustration and collapse.

“I’m downstairs outside your place right now, looking at the light in your window, and every time I think about you living in there with another man…”

“I want to go upstairs and shoot him.”

Always yelling about violence the second he got emotional.

When I stayed quiet, he got even more worked up.

“Then the kid can keep your last name, and I’ll take the kid’s last name too. Is that enough?”

“Impressive.” I almost wanted to applaud. “Why don’t you just take my husband’s last name too?”

A few seconds later, he sniffed and said through clenched

teeth,

“Judy, you really don’t treat me like a person.”
