For a moment there, Ethan, Lee, Ryker, and Tony jumped up and down in joy like a bunch of zoo animals.

Ethan, in particular, was choked up with emotion. “You came back, Kylee. This is incredible. I didn’t think that I’d ever see you again.”

“This is amazing.” Lee stepped forward to hug Kylee and me. “We’ve got you both back. Now that you’re

here, don’t ever leave us again. We missed you so.”

Just as his arms extended toward us, Kylee slapped him in the face without hesitation.

“Lee, what kind of care did you give my child?”

Silence gripped the air.

Ethan came forward. “Kylee, hear us out-”

Kylee smacked the words right out of Ethan’s mouth.

Not even Ryker and Tony were spared from Kylee’s wrath.

I watched the whole thing in shock.

There was only one thing on my mind.

It was the best thing ever!

Mom was an absolute beast.

In moments, the quartet had matching handprints on their cheeks.

Yet, they weren’t the least bit upset. If anything, they looked a little nostalgic.

Ryker offered his other cheek. “I deserve to get another to call it even, Kylee.”

Kylee was happy to oblige.

Once the hitting stopped, the atmosphere took a bizarre turn.

The four men gathered around Kylee, apologizing profusely.

“You’re right to be upset, Kylee. We didn’t handle things right by Niamh. We should’ve brought Sadie home in the first place.”

“But we had no idea what Sadie was capable of We have dealt with her, so no one can ever hurt Niamh again.”

“Come back to us. We missed you so much”

They took turns to get a word in, promising Kylee that no one who had harmed me was left unaddressed

Ethan, Lee, Ryker, and Tony had no words.

Kylee smirked. “Hadn’t you been the ones terrorizing my daughter? Didn’t you lock her in a cage? Didn’t

you hire help to hurt her? Haven’t you driven her to take her life all to please that woman’s child?”

The quartet went white.

Ethan’s lips quivered. “Sadie played us, Kylee. We honestly loved Niamh like our own in the beginning.”

I had no doubt about that.

Growing up, I was the envy of everybody because of my incredible fathers.

They had spoiled me to my very core, giving me whatever I wanted.

Their malice toward me later was just as real too.

With his gaze shifting to me, Lee came my way, and I backed away in fright.

Lee let out a wry chuckle. “You’re scared of me, Niamh.

“I’m sorry, Niamh. I broke my promise to keep you safe and make you my little princess. In the end, you…”

He wept out of nowhere and grabbed my hands to smack his face. “Just hit me. I’ve always been grateful

to have you in our lives. Even though we raised you, you were the one who had always been there for us.”
