Thrown to the Dogs: The Fallen Star’s Bloody Revenge Chapter 03

Thrown to the Dogs: The Fallen Star’s Bloody Revenge Chapter 03 She Ruined My Face, Then My Name
Vivienne’s voice was as cold as ice.
“Do it. Put every one of those stories out there. Get more media outlets to pick them up, and the sooner, the better. I want to make damn sure he never works in this industry again.
“Once his name is buried under scandal and everyone hates him, he’ll finally stop dreaming about a comeback and stay home where he belongs.”
Vivienne was merciless.
She wouldn’t be satisfied until she’d shut every door in my face.
But what had I ever done to deserve this?
How could she do all of this to me just for Nolan?
I hung my head and cried until I could barely breathe.
I hated myself for being blind. More than anything, I hated that I’d married the wrong woman.
It hadn’t even been a few minutes since Vivienne gave the order when the first stories about me hit the internet.
They came with photos, screenshots, everything needed to make the lies look real. The whole internet turned on me. Strangers tore me apart with the ugliest words they could think of, and some flat-out said I should die.
By the next day, people had even tracked down the hospital I was in. They barged into my room with cameras rolling, shouting that they wanted to beat me to death.
One of them charged straight at me and started ripping at the bandages around my face.
“I’m going to let everyone see what kind of freak you really are! Maybe then we’ll know just how twisted you have to be to do the things you’ve done.”
The gauze had stuck to my wounds. When they tore it off, it took skin and flesh with it. I screamed from the pain.
The sight made a few of them gag, but that didn’t stop them. If anything, the insults got worse.
“Looks like you finally got what you deserved! Good. I’m putting this online so the whole world can see how disgusting you are.”
Phones crowded around my face, snapping pictures from every angle. Flash after flash went off until my eyes hurt.
I begged them through my tears.
“Please… just leave me alone. I didn’t do any of those things. I swear.”
Someone spat at me.
“Everyone knows what you did, and you’re still lying? You were impossible to work with. You even got a crew member into a car wreck. How can someone like you still have the nerve to live? Why don’t you just die?”
Rotten eggs and food scraps started flying at me. I tried desperately to dodge them, but the more I moved, the harder they threw.
Then someone swung a chair into my head. I was seconds from blacking out when Vivienne and my son finally showed up.
They pulled me into their arms and drove everyone out of the room.
“Honey, don’t be afraid. Our son and I are here. We’ll protect you. Whatever they did to you, I’ll make them pay for it a hundred times over.”
But the two people who deserved to pay most were right there beside me.
After my son cleaned the blood off me, my eyes drifted to the television across the room, and for the first time, I saw what I really looked like in its dark screen.
There was a monster staring back at me.
My face was a maze of torn, ugly wounds. Some were deep enough to expose bone, and blood still oozed from the raw flesh.
I stared at that monster until something inside me snapped, and then I screamed.
Vivienne and my son looked just as stunned. It was the first time either of them had seen my wounds uncovered. Apparently, even they hadn’t realized just how bad the damage was.
Vivienne stared at the bloody mess of my face, almost afraid to touch me. In the end, she simply covered my eyes with her hand and tried to calm me down.
“Honey, don’t look. It’s okay. You’ll get better. Everything’s going to be okay.”
No, it wasn’t. Nothing was ever going to be okay again.
I shoved her away and screamed at her, completely losing control. “Get out! Just get out! I don’t want to see you!”
Pain crossed Vivienne’s face, but she still wouldn’t let me go. She only tightened her arms around me.
In the end, the doctor had to give me a sedative before I finally fell asleep.
Right before I lost consciousness, I heard Vivienne say something.
“We did go too far this time. But I promise, this is the last time.”
