The soul–link voices froze for half a second. 

[Wait. What is happening? Why did the villainess agree so quickly?] 

[She is pretending. She thinks rejecting them back will make 

the male leads panic. Later she will know that nobody cares.] 

[The scene where she gets jealous and uses a scent–drug on Ruby is coming soon. Kael will be the first one to catch her.] 

That night, after I cleared out the troublemakers, I leaned 

lazily against the sofa in Moonlit Club, eating the fruit handed 

to me by the two male hosts on either side and drinking wine expensive enough to make the staff nervous. 

Once I stopped caring, the voices sounded like gossip to me. 

The private room door was kicked open. 

Flynn charged in like a red–eyed bull. Before he could reach 

me, the Silvermoon guards on both sides stopped him. 

“Sloane Silvermoon, HOW COULD YOU DO THAT!” he roared. “You used a scent–drug on Ruby?!” 

Silas, who had always looked gentle, had brought people to block the hallway outside. His gaze was cold enough to cut. 

“Sloane,” he said, “you went too far this time. Go to the Elder Court and confess. Otherwise, once Kael makes a move, I 

cannot protect you.” 

I raised an eyebrow and asked calmly, “What did I do?” 

Flynn became even angrier. 

“You used a scent–drug on Ruby and wanted her to be ruined 

by some filthy rogue. Are you still pretending you know nothing?” 

“Do you have evidence?” 

If rejecting them before had only been because I felt betrayed, 

then now, I was completely disappointed in them. 

“If you have evidence, bring it out. If you do not, stop barking 

in front of me.” 

“Leave.” 

The guards moved to clear them out. 

But Silas and Flynn were Alpha–blooded after all. In their 

anger, they actually broke through the guards and grabbed for 

1. me. 

Wine spilled all over the floor. Fruit was crushed underfoot. 

Silas seized my arm. I stumbled and fell hard to the ground. 

The strength drained from my body, and I collapsed. 

Flynn looked down at me coldly. 

“Stop acting. Do you think this will make us forgive you?” 

I was not acting. 

Flynn’s scent made it hard for me to breathe. It was as if his 

scent had changed, full of betrayal and unfamiliarity. 

“Sloane,” Silas said softly, but the hand holding my jaw was 

not soft at all. “Do not blame me for being cruel. Blame 

yourself for bullying Ruby.” 

He forced my chin up and pressed a small vial toward my lips. 

“Let go of her!” 

A man’s voice cut through the chaos. 

Through the corner of my eye, I saw someone in a dark Elder 

Court uniform stride toward me. 

Tall, broad–shouldered, and upright. 

Then I lost consciousness. 

When I woke up, I was already in the pack infirmary. 

The young man beside me was still in uniform. He had hard, handsome features and looked clean, steady, and righteous. 

His name was Rowan Archer. 

The fourth candidate. 

He had been drinking with friends in the next room and 

happened to see me being bullied, so he stepped in and saved 

1. me. 

Rowan asked whether I wanted to arrest them. 

I shook my head gently. 

This matter could still be twisted into a private dispute 

between former candidates and their former patron. 

That would not be enough. 

Unless I had more evidence. 

The soul–link voices appeared again. 

[Ruby was drugged, and it was not even Sloane who did it? Why do I suddenly feel a little bad for her?] 

[Wake up. What is there to pity about a vicious villainess? A scent–drug is nothing. Later she will hire rogues to kidnap Ruby.]
