They Voted Me Out, So I Rose as a Lycan Warrior Chapter 06

Sebastian and the others arrive at Lycancrest Academy on the third day after classes begin.

That morning, I’ve just come out of the training grounds, my body still warm from the workout. The temperature in the Lycan Realm is only in the low fifties, and the cold wind quickly dries the

sweat on my skin.

Roselyn hooks her arm through mine.

“Tonight’s the freshman mixer. I’m taking you. You’re not allowed to bail.”

I laugh and nod.

But I haven’t gone far from the training grounds when I see several familiar faces standing at the

school entrance.

Roselyn notices me stop, “You know them?”

I nod, “I used to.”

The moment Sebastian sees me, he strides over.

“Nora, are you done with this yet?”

Students are coming and going through the entrance, and quite a few stop to look at us when they

hear him.

I stop walking.

“You came all the way to the Lycan Realm just to ask me that?”

Sebastian frowns.

“You disappeared without a word. You left the group chat, blocked us, and stopped answering our calls. Do you have any idea how long we’ve been looking for you?”

I look at him.

“When you chose Crownvale over Ravenhill, did you ask me?”

He freezes.

“When you took Rebecca to the coast, did you tell me?”

“And when you gave her Mom’s necklace, did you ask me?”

Nathan steps forward.

“Nora, we came here to talk things through.”

I look at him.

this your idea of talking things through?”

Clara can’t hold back anymore.

“Nora, Alpha Sebastian really was worried about you. He barely slept after you left.”

I let out a quiet laugh.

“Did he lose sleep when I had a forty–degree fever too?”

Clara’s face instantly turns pale.

Just then, Rebecca steps out from behind them.

Her eyes are red, and her voice is so soft it sounds as though she might burst into tears at any

moment.

“Nora, I’m sorry. This is all my fault. If it weren’t for me, you wouldn’t be fighting with them.”

She lowers her head as if she’s the one who has been wronged.

“If you hate me, I can leave. Please don’t give up your family and your pack because of me.”

Sebastian immediately frowns.

“This isn’t your fault.”

Nathan instinctively shifts half a step toward her.

Roselyn suddenly steps in front of me.

“Hey, you. If you want to fight, take it somewhere else. This is a school entrance, not your living

room.”

Sebastian gives her a cold look, “This is family business.”

I speak quietly, “Not anymore.”

I look at Sebastian, “Not after you gave Mom’s necklace to Rebecca.”

The murmurs around us gradually grow louder.

Rebecca hurriedly explains.

“That’s not what happened. Alpha only asked me to wear it for a few days. I didn’t know it meant

that much to you…”

“The pendant has my name engraved on the back. You never saw it?”

Rebecca’s lips tremble, but she says nothing.

Sebastian’s expression darkens.

“Nora, I know I was wrong about the necklace. I was going to give it back. But you can’t just disappear because of this.”

I stare at him, finding the whole thing absurd.

“Can’t disappear because of this?”

I pull up the voting record and hold it out in front of him.

“What about this?”

Sebastian goes completely still.

Nathan instinctively looks away.

Tears spill from Clara’s eyes, “Nora, we just…”

I look at her, “Just what? You thought I’d forgive you?”

“Or did you think I had nowhere else to go? That I had no parents, no one else, so no matter what you chose, I’d just wait for you to come back?”

Clara is completely speechless.

I look at Sebastian one last time.

“When you voted for her, did you ever think about me as your sister?”

The color slowly drains from his face.

“And when you gave Mom’s necklace to her, did you ever think about what it meant?”

“That was the last thing Mom ever left me.”
