They Stole My Wedding to Save Her, Not Knowing They Were Sacrificing Me to the Mountain God Chapter 04

The midnight-blue ceremonial cloak embroidered with the Sutton family crest was slowly unfolded, its intricate silver-thread patterns catching the light in a way that was utterly mesmerizing, casting an almost hypnotic spell.

Aunt Maeve pinned up my hair and placed the veil over my face.

Patriarch Graham walked ahead of me, clearing the way.

The tiny bells sewn into the cloak chimed softly as I moved, drawing everyone’s attention.

my parents frowned in irritation, clearly about to snap at whoever had interrupted the reception. But the moment they saw Patriarch Graham’s face, they hurriedly put on bright, welcoming smiles.

“Patriarch Graham, are you here for Sienna’s wedding too? Why didn’t you let us know ahead of time? We would have…”

Patriarch Graham cut them off, his tone distant and cold.

“You misunderstood. We are only here to collect the Guardian’s Bride.”

The Guardian’s Bride?

My parents’ faces went pale with shock, but only for a moment before they quickly masked it with a veneer of compliance.

“Then hurry and take the Guardian’s Bride with you,” Evelyn said quickly. “Don’t miss the proper time.”

Aunt Maeve held my hand and led me past them.

They stood respectfully, heads lowered, without looking at me even once.

Only Callum noticed something was wrong. He stepped forward, his voice sharpening.

“Who is this bride? Why didn’t Elara tell me someone else was getting married today?”

Sienna, afraid he might offend the family patriarch, immediately put on a hurt expression.

“Callum, you promised that during our wedding, you’d only think about me,” she said, her voice trembling. “So why are you still talking about Elara?”

“If you can’t let her go, then maybe we shouldn’t get married at all. I’ll just die, like the psychic said I would.”

The moment Callum heard that, he surrendered.

“You’re the person Elara cares about most,” he said, softening at once. “Of course I care about you too.”

“If this ceremony is yours, then it’s yours. I won’t mention anyone else again.”

Only then was Sienna satisfied.

Her tears stopped, and she smiled through them.

By the time Callum finally coaxed her back into a good mood, I had already walked out the front entrance with Patriarch Graham and gotten into the black family SUV they had brought.

The engine started.

The window lowered slightly, and a cool breeze brushed against the red veil covering my face.

Upstairs, noise broke out again.

The men who had tried to assault me were dragged downstairs, tied up and bruised.

Several strong young men from the Sutton line hauled them in front of my parents and Callum with expressionless efficiency.

“These men attempted to violate the Guardian’s Bride. They have been disciplined, and their parents have already been notified.”

“When the time comes, the family patriarch will cut off all business ties with their families.”

The bruised men were still cursing through swollen mouths.

“Elara’s had three weddings already. She’s not some innocent little thing anymore. So what if I touched her?”

“My father owns a publicly traded company. What senior Sutton line? What a joke. Just wait until my dad crushes your entire family.”

“If you don’t want to offend me, bring Elara back and let her take care of us. If she makes us happy, maybe I’ll…”

Callum’s face grew darker with every word.

He shoved Sienna aside, grabbed the man who was talking, and yanked him close.

“Nolan,” he said through clenched teeth, “who did you say you touched?”
