They Sold Me to Hell and Called It Love Chapter 07

“I never knew Lila could be so cruel…”

My uncle shot to his feet and grabbed Kael by the collar, his eyes bloodshot as he roared. “You told me the compound in Nueva Sangre was safe. You said Phina was just there to learn her lesson—maybe a little hardship at most!”

“Then why is she like this?!”

“For five years, you swore to me that Phina was doing fine. Why did you lie to me?!”

Kael stood there like a man lost, like a puppet whose strings had been cut. Not a single word came out.

My uncle collapsed, drained of all strength. He dropped to the floor, covered his face with his hands, and sobbed like a helpless child.

Darius took Jax Cole’s phone and unlocked it. The photo gallery was filled with images of me—curled up in corners, drenched in blood—along with videos of me chained, my eyes hollow with despair.

His face grew paler and paler. The hand holding the phone trembled so badly he could barely keep his grip.

He kept scrolling and found several audio recordings. Lila’s voice came through the speaker—sweet on the surface, venomous underneath.

“Just make sure she’s still breathing. If you go soft on her, you won’t see a single cent of the remaining payment.”

“As long as she doesn’t die, do whatever you want with her. No one will care what happens to her.”

When the recordings finished playing, a guttural cry tore from Kael’s throat—a sound of pure anguish, like his heart was being ripped out. He sobbed with a grief that tore him apart.

He couldn’t hold back anymore. He spun around and charged toward Lila’s hospital room like a madman.

I followed coldly behind him, wanting to see what he would do to the woman who had personally pushed me into hell.

Lila Hart only knew that I had jumped to my death. She didn’t yet know that the three men had uncovered the truth.

She lay in her hospital bed, dreaming of marrying Kael, becoming Mrs. Rourke, being cherished and adored by all three men.

With me gone, she would be the only daughter of the Cross family. The mother of Kael Rourke’s child. The one everyone would worship.

Until the hospital door was kicked open with a deafening crash. The sound jolted her upright in bed.

When she saw the three men standing at the doorway, all staring at her with eyes that promised to tear her apart, she began to shake uncontrollably.

“Kael… Uncle… Darius… what… what’s wrong?”

“Is it… is it my sister? Did she not make it?”

She started crying as she spoke, the tears falling at just the right moment.

“I know my sister was cruel. I know she couldn’t accept me or my baby. But I don’t blame her.”

“If she could come back, I’d do anything. Anything at all.”

She pretended to speak on my behalf, but in truth, she was still twisting the knife.

In the past, the three men had been completely fooled by her. They had swallowed every one of her lies.

But now that I was dead, they could finally see the snake that Lila Hart truly was.

Darius was the first to break. He lunged forward and dragged her out of the bed, his grip so tight it looked like he wanted to shatter her bones.

“Lila, how long are you going to keep up this act?”

“You killed Phina. You gave orders in our name and destroyed her. Do you really think we’ll believe anything you say anymore?”

Terrified by the fury in his face, Lila turned to my uncle and Kael, sobbing for help. “Uncle, Darius has lost his mind—pull him off me!”

“Kael, I’m carrying your baby. Please, help me!”

But the two men she had always relied on stood perfectly still. Their eyes held nothing but ice-cold hatred.

Lila finally sensed that something was wrong. Still, she refused to admit anything.

“Did my sister say something to you before she died? She hated me— she must have filled your heads with lies. Don’t believe her!”

When my uncle saw that she still wouldn’t confess, a flash of savage fury darkened his eyes. “Lila Hart, the greatest regret of my life is pitying you. Bringing you back to the Cross estate was a mistake. You destroyed my Phina.”

“We know everything you did. I will make you pay.”

Lila looked at my uncle and saw he wasn’t joking. Fear finally broke through her composure. Tears welled in her eyes. “Uncle, I don’t understand… what are you talking about…”

My uncle let out a sudden, crazed laugh, laughing until tears ran down his face. “You don’t understand? That’s fine. Once you’ve experienced every suffering Phina went through, you will.”

Lila’s mind flashed with the image of my broken body. She began to shake violently, her lips quivering as she turned to Kael. “Kael, please — say something. You can’t let them do this to me. I’m carrying your baby!”

Kael stepped forward and gently stroked her face. His voice was impossibly soft—but the words that left his mouth sounded like a demon crawling out of hell.

“If Phina could survive it, so can you.”

Lila finally broke. Her composure shattered as she screamed, “I’m carrying your child!”

Kael let out a cold laugh, his eyes blazing with hatred. “When Phina was carrying my child, you pushed her off that terrace. She lost the baby and almost died. You don’t get to play that card now.”

I floated in the air, my eyes wide with shock. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

He had known all along.

But his devotion to Lila had made him choose to wrong me. To sacrifice me.

In the end, Lila was dragged away by the bodyguards.

No matter how she screamed or begged, the three men who had once pushed me into hell for her sake showed her not a shred of mercy.
