Just as I was about to jump, a shout came from behind me.

“Helena! Don’t!”

Merritt, Zane, Matteo, and Brennan-the four men I had spent so many years trying to win over-stood in a line, begging me not to jump.

“Helena, we know the truth now. I’ve already dealt with those people. Don’t leave. Come back to Manhattan with me!”

Merritt’s voice was shaking.

“No, she’s my sister. She has nothing to do with you anymore!

She’ll come home with me. We’ll leave New York, go to the

West Coast, and never come back.” Matteo was crying so hard he could barely speak.

Zane’s eyes were red, his voice hoarse.

“Helena… you really don’t want me anymore?”

Brennan reached a hand out to me.

“Helena, I wanted to marry you when we were kids. Come

with me. We’ll go anywhere you want.”

I looked at them and smiled.

“What about Seraphina? You probably haven’t seen her yet, have you? I killed her. Don’t you hate me? Don’t you want to

avenge her?”

They all shook their heads.

“We didn’t know she could be so vicious. Helena, come back. We’ll make it up to you.”

I waved at them.

“No need. I’m going home for pumpkin pie. Goodbye.”

With that, I jumped.

Behind me, I heard the sound of four men screaming my

name.
