After the recordings and videos were exposed, Savannah’s mental state deteriorated rapidly.

She began having public breakdowns, screaming that everyone had betrayed her.

She even physically attacked Ethan at school, simply because he said in front of others, “You can’t keep lying.”

In the end, she was involuntarily committed to a legitimate mental health facility.

Not the kind of place they had in Utah.

That hellish institution had been shut down years ago.

This time, it was a real hospital with oversight and proper treatment plans.

Later, I received a letter from her therapist.

The therapist asked if I would be willing to participate in family therapy.

I refused.

“I am not her family,” I wrote back. “My presence would not help her. She needs to learn one thing: other people are not relationships for her to manipulate into existence.”

The therapist expressed her understanding.

A few months later, I heard Savannah had been diagnosed with co-occurring borderline and histrionic personality disorders and had begun dialectical behavior therapy.

She was slowly learning healthier ways to cope.

I truly hoped she would get better.
