Their Four-Person Test, My Unopened Parachute Chapter 07

Damian’s voice was hoarse and low-like a demon crawling up from hell.

Celeste shook her head desperately, tears streaming down her blotchy face.

“Damian, it’s not like that… Let me explain!”

“I was just jealous! Why did she get your proposal?”

“We grew up together! The one you loved most was always me!”

Damian didn’t answer.

His gaze landed on Celeste’s ring finger.

The pink diamond was still there.

He walked over and grabbed her wrist.

“Take it off.”

“Ah! It hurts! Damian, let go of me!”

Celeste screamed in pain.

But Damian didn’t let go. He twisted the band and yanked the ring off her finger by force.

The band scraped off a layer of raw skin.

Celeste’s finger bled freely as she crumpled to the floor, writhing in agony.

A cold smile twisted at the edge of Damian’s lips. “You’re not worthy of touching her things.”

The officers stepped in and cuffed Celeste.

“Celeste Romano, you’re under arrest for murder. Come with us.”

Luca and Nico were stopped by the police as well.

“You two will need to cooperate with the investigation too.”

Luca’s face turned sour. He threw up his hands, voice tight. “We had no idea she’d swapped the rig. We thought it was just another cruel prank to knock Avery down a peg – we never knew Celeste meant for her to

die.”

Nico nodded grimly. “We only learned what had really happened after Avery’s body turned up. Out of old

loyalty, we lied and covered for her. That’s on us.”

The officers cuffed them both. “We’ll sort out what you knew and when you knew it during questioning.”

The Moretti family’s legal team arrived on the scene.

“Boss, the family legal team is here, awaiting your orders.”

Damian closed his fist around the ring.

“Go through every piece of evidence. Make sure Celeste pays.”

The sirens faded into the distance.

Only Damian remained in the garage.

He stood by the coroner’s van, holding the ring and the bracelet, both reeking of blood.

After a long time, as if something had just hit him, he whirled around.

“Car keys.”

He snatched the keys from a bodyguard and tore toward his sports car like a madman.

He didn’t even turn on the wipers. The engine roared, and the tires left long white streaks on the road.

I sat in the passenger seat, watching his trembling hands.

Damian, what are you running for?

Didn’t you say this was just a prank?
