Selina spotted me holding up my paddle too. She hesitated for a moment before slowly lowering her hand.

Tears welled up in her eyes.

“I see Sister wants the Tear of the Ocean as well. I won’t bid then. I could never take something you want.”

Damian’s face turned cold in an instant. He looked at me with undisguised dislike.

“You don’t have to hold back for anyone, Selina,” Damian said firmly. “Bid for whatever you desire. I’ll back you up.”

He lifted his own paddle before Selina could reply.

“Five million dollars.”

The entire hall fell dead silent. Whispers spread through the crowd right away.

“Isn’t Damian Aurora’s promised mate? Why is he bidding against her for another woman?”

“He’s humiliating the princess right in front of everyone.”

“Poor Aurora. She’s the heir of the United Pack Kingdom, yet her own promised mate treats her like this.”

I clenched my fists tightly. I had been raised with every luxury imaginable, but Damian had turned me into a laughingstock tonight.

Humiliation weighed heavy on my shoulders. I raised my hand and made the gesture for Sky’s the Limit.

No one would make me back down.

“Sky’s the Limit!” the auction host shouted excitedly.

Round after round of bidding followed.

“Fifty million dollars! Congratulations, Princess Aurora, you have won the Tear of the Ocean!”

The tension in my chest eased once the gavel fell. I walked over to pay for the jewelry, but the staff member shook his head awkwardly.

“Your Highness, your card has been frozen. We cannot process the payment.”

“That’s impossible,” I frowned. “This is an unlimited black card.”

The staff tried again, but the card still did not work.

Silas stepped forward with a gentle smile.

“I told you I’d pay tonight. Use my card.”

He handed over his card, yet it was also declined.

Murmurs and mocking laughter erupted across the room.

“Is the United Pack Kingdom broke? They can’t even pay fifty million dollars?”

“Why call Sky’s the Limit if you can’t afford the bid? What a joke.”

Damian had watched the whole scene with a cold smirk. He stood up slowly and pulled out his own black card.

“Let me pay.”

The payment went through without a hitch. The staff handed the Tear of the Ocean jewelry set to Damian.

He walked straight to Selina and fastened the necklace around her neck for everyone to see.

I became the biggest joke in the auction hall that night. My eyes stung fiercely, but I forced back every tear.

“Damian did this,” Silas muttered angrily beside me. “He’s a top-tier hacker. I saw him working on his laptop earlier. He locked all our accounts remotely.”

I could no longer hold back my tears. I turned and buried my face against Silas’s shoulder.

“Can I borrow your shoulder?” My voice trembled uncontrollably.
