The Wife He Left Behind While He Built a World for Another Woman Chapter 08

At that moment, Celeste was sitting in the CEO’s office at Rinaldi Group, studying the financial reports in her hands with a smug smile.

She had successfully sidelined Vincent and seized most of the company’s real power. Before long, the entire Rinaldi Group would belong to her.

The office door suddenly flew open.

Vincent strode in with a group of guards behind him.

The instant Celeste saw him, a gentle smile appeared on her face.

“Vincent, you’re here. I was just about to come find you. The company’s been doing extremely well lately, and I—”

Before she could finish, Vincent seized her by the throat and slammed her against the wall.

His gaze was cold and venomous.

“Celeste, you vicious monster. You killed Julian. You killed Evelyn and our child. Did you really think you could deceive me forever?”

Celeste’s face went white.

She struggled to pry his hand away, but his grip pinned her so tightly that she could not move.

“Vincent, what are you talking about? I don’t understand. Let go of me.”

“Has someone been poisoning you against me?”

“Poisoning me against you?” Vincent let out a humorless laugh and threw the flash drive at her face. “See for yourself. Tell me this isn’t all your doing.”

Celeste picked up the drive and opened the files on the office computer.

The moment she saw what was on it, all color drained from her face.

She knew her disguise had finally been exposed.

Then she stopped struggling and burst into hysterical laughter.

“Yes. I did all of it.”

“Julian was an idiot. He actually dared to break up with me. He deserved to die.”

“And Evelyn? Why did that bitch get to marry you? Why did she get everything? She deserved to die too.”

“And that unborn bastard deserved it most of all.”

“Shut up!”

Vincent shook with rage as his grip tightened.

Celeste’s face turned dark red, and her tongue lolled out as she struggled for air.

When she was on the verge of suffocating, Vincent abruptly released her.

Celeste collapsed to the floor, gasping for breath.

“I’m not going to let you die that easily.” Vincent stared down at her, his voice glacial. “You’re going to answer for everything you’ve done.”

“You’ll spend the rest of your life in prison, living every day in pain and remorse.”

He motioned to the guards behind him.

“Take her to the police. Turn over every piece of evidence we have.”

“I want her to spend the rest of her life behind bars.”

The guards immediately moved in, hauled Celeste to her feet, and dragged her toward the door.

She thrashed wildly and screamed over her shoulder.

“Vincent, I hope you rot in hell!”

“I’ll haunt you even after I’m dead!”

“Evelyn may be dead, but you’ll still never have her heart!”

“You’ll spend the rest of your life drowning in regret!”

Her voice gradually faded into the distance, and silence returned to the office.

Vincent stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows and stared at the traffic far below.

His eyes were empty.

Celeste was right.

He would spend the rest of his life trapped in regret.

He had once believed he had everything: money, power, and status.

Only after losing Evelyn did he understand that none of it meant anything.

All he truly wanted was the woman who smiled when she called his name, acted playfully affectionate with him, and cooked for him.

He wanted her and their unborn child.

But he had destroyed them both.
