The True Mafia Principessa Chapter 07

The True Mafia Principessa Chapter 07

The director sounded stunned, his voice trembling through the phone. “Miss Vayne… wh-what are you talking about?”

I didn’t hold back.

“Are you deaf? Do I need to repeat myself?” My tone turned ice cold. “I said I’m done funding your institution. And I’ll be hiring a lawyer to audit your accounts. If you’ve touched a single cent of those donations, you’re going to prison.”

I hung up without waiting for a response.

Then I immediately called Rocco and told him to find a lawyer to investigate the charity’s finances.

Recovery wasn’t nearly as boring as I had expected.

Rocco showed up every day like clockwork, keeping me company and filling me in on everything happening outside.

After Uncle Lorenzo returned, he began investigating the mole inside the company. It didn’t take long before he uncovered the truth. His Underboss and Consigliere had been working together

behind his back.

They had embezzled company funds and pinned the blame on him. Worse, they had planned to sell the company’s core secrets to Quentin.

They hadn’t succeeded.

They were caught before they could.

Now they were both under control, and Uncle Lorenzo had no intention of letting them off easy. He was preparing lawsuits that would send them straight to prison.

At the same time, he cut off all cooperation with the Morello family and the Vercetti family.

Families that stabbed their allies in the back weren’t worth keeping around.

The two Dons had no idea what had happened. They used every connection they had to reach Uncle Lorenzo, demanding an explanation.

“We’ve always worked well together. Why cut us off all of a sudden?”

Uncle Lorenzo let out a cold laugh. “You want to know why? Ask your sons what they did to my

Olyria. And from now on, don’t come near me again. If I lose my temper, I might just wipe both your

families out.”

He had always been a man of his word.

The two family heads were left deeply unsettled.

Meanwhile, the company my parents left me was slowly being reclaimed.

Before they passed, they had left a will. The Vayne family empire belonged to me and me alone.

Quentin had been given shares, but with strict conditions. He could only receive dividends. He

couldn’t sell them.

If I married him, those shares would automatically become marital property.

Only shared property.

If we stayed together, he benefited. If we separated, he got nothing.

Recently, Uncle Lorenzo had been using that agreement to block Quentin from accessing any real

power within the company.

Rocco chuckled. “He’s probably losing his mind right now.”

I took a sip of the milk he held to my lips, a faint smile curving on mine. “Not enough. Compared to what he did to me, this isn’t even close. I want him to end up with nothing. Just like he started.”

I stayed in the hospital for another couple of weeks.

I was almost ready to be discharged when a nurse offered to take me out to the garden for some

fresh air.

At first, I didn’t think much of it.

But as she kept pushing my wheelchair farther and farther away, something felt wrong.

“Turn back,” I said sharply. “Take me back. Where are you taking me?”

The young nurse looked apologetic. “Miss Vayne… I’m sorry. My mother is sick. I needed the

money.”

I immediately tried to stand up and walk back on my own.

A pair of large hands forced me back down into the chair.

Two men stepped into view, one on each side.

Nico. Lucian.

And then Quentin dropped to one knee in front of me.

They all looked rough, tense, but the moment they saw me, their expressions shifted with barely

contained excitement.

Quentin’s voice shook. “Olyria… I finally found you. Marry me. I swear, I’ll never hurt you again. I was out of my mind before. I don’t know what I was thinking, letting that bitch enjoy your life.”

While he spoke, I quietly unlocked my phone and sent a distress signal to Rocco and Uncle Lorenzo.

Only after that did I sit back and watch the show.

Nico shoved Quentin aside and rushed in front of me. “Don’t listen to him, Olyria. Marry me instead. We grew up together. You even saved my life. I’ll protect you from now on. I’ll never let anyone hurt you again.”

He leaned closer, his voice eager. “Once we’re married, we’ll be one. And you can tell Don Grimaldi not to go after the Morello family. Our families can grow together…”

Quentin froze, staring at him in disbelief.

Then he lunged.

“You bastard! Trying to steal my fiancée?”

The two of them crashed to the ground, fists flying.
