The True Mafia Principessa Chapter 05

The True Mafia Principessa Chapter 05

Only Quentin still hesitated.

“Let’s just get her out first. Don’t call anyone yet. What if Olyria goes all in and exposes herself?”

A flicker of hatred flashed through Clara’s eyes, gone as quickly as it came. She covered her face

and broke into soft, pitiful sobs.

“Are you saying the Vayne family’s Principessa hates me that much? Just to get out of that warehouse, she actually set a fire? She must be trying to force us to call the authorities so she can expose me and humiliate me.’

Nico watched her cry and wavered. “Then… we put out the fire first. If we can’t, we’ll figure it out

later.”

Lucian suddenly remembered what it felt like to be trapped in a burning building. His expression darkened. He pulled out his phone and started dialing.

Clara slapped it out of his hand.

“Lucian, I don’t want my identity exposed.”.

She had been so startled by his reaction that she forgot to keep up the act. Her voice dropped,

revealing her true thoughts.

“We’ll save her if we can. If we can’t… and something happens to her, wouldn’t it be easier for me to keep using her identity? Didn’t you guys say you wanted me to experience a better life?”

Lucian wanted to snap back.

This isn’t your life. How can you say that so easily?

But when he looked at his two best friends, they stood there, silent, as if they had already accepted

His patience snapped.

He shoved Clara aside and pointed at Nico and Quentin, fury blazing in his eyes.

“Have you both lost your minds? Olyria has saved us more than once, and now you’re willing to let her die? We can sponsor a thousand girls like Clara. But there’s only one Olyria.”

Quentin froze.

A memory clawed its way to the surface.

Back at the orphanage, he had once fought a bigger, stronger boy to protect Clara from being bullied. He lost. Badly.

The boy forced rotten food down his throat until he choked on it.

Afterward, Quentin fell seriously ill. No medicine worked. The staff gave up and left him alone in a room, waiting to die.

When Clara heard, she ran as far away from him as she could. That room became a place no one

dared enter.

Until one day, the door opened.

A girl stepped inside.

Her hand was cool against his burning forehead, her voice soft and sweet.

“You have a fever.”

He grabbed her hand like it was the only thing keeping him alive.

“Please… save me.”

That one plea saved his life.

From that day on, she treated him like family. Every day, except when she was in school, she stayed

by his side while he got his injections.

She told him stories about school, about everything she saw and heard.

On his birthday, she always brought him carefully prepared gifts.

Where were those gifts now?

The handmade cards. The little stuffed bear. The cufflinks she gave him later on.

He had treasured them, displayed them where he could always see them.

When had they disappeared?

He forced himself to remember.

Clara.

Clara had thrown them all into the storage room.

She had sneered at them.

“A rich girl giving you this cheap junk? Quentin, she clearly doesn’t take you seriously. On your birthday, she should be giving you gifts worth millions.”

He had stood there, silent, watching as the cards were bent, the bear torn, the cufflinks smashed against the floor.

“Lucian!” Clara snapped angrily now. “How can you say that about me? I’m one of a kind too. Why am I any less than Olyria? She just got lucky being born into the Vayne family. If I had her background, I’d be better than her in every way.”

Lucian didn’t even look at her.

“Nico. Call.”

Clara rushed forward again, trying to knock the phone away like before.

This time, Lucian kicked her hard. She hit the ground with a cry.

Her German Shepherd came charging in at the noise, barking furiously at Lucian.

Enraged, Clara unclipped the leash.

“You kicked me? I don’t like you anymore. Max, kill them.”

Lucian stepped forward and kicked the dog aside. When it lunged again, he grabbed a rope from a servant, forced the dog down, and tied it up.

Then he dragged the struggling animal over to Clara.

He forced its jaws open and pressed them toward her arm.

“Go ahead. See how it feels to be bitten.”
