When news came that Jenna was in custody, I pushed him to go to the police station and deal with it. He wouldn’t let go of me and tried to climb back on top. I kicked him.

“Ow! Go already. I’m starving!”

Jason kissed my cheek.

“Fine. Wait for me.”

He got out of bed. I couldn’t help but stare at his toned waist. The subtitles popped up again.

[Damn, girl. You got a nice night. I’d trade places with you in a heartbeat!]

[It’s unfair! The villainess has an amazing body and a pretty face. Mother Nature spent so much time on her, and then just threw me together.]

When Jason came back, the subtitles slowly faded. I couldn’t help but smile.

He sat across the table and fed me, acting as if it were the most ordinary thing in the world.

By the end of the story, Jason had successfully sent his uncle to prison too. The entire West family answered to him.

And I got his engagement ring. On our wedding day, my dad handed me over to Jason and finally let out a sigh of relief.

“You crazy girl. Back then I thought you’d lost your mind, refusing to let me work with him. I was so worried something had happened. Turns out you two were just having a lover’s spat.”

“Dad! We weren’t even married yet!”

“I know, I know. Just a little lovers’ banter. I got it. Your dad’s been there.”

I glared at Jason next to me. He was laughing so hard.

He put the ring on my finger and promised to love me forever.

That’s when the subtitles appeared again.

[Watch out, Abby! Jenna escaped! She broke out of prison!]

My blood ran cold. Then Jason kissed me.

“We’re at our wedding. Focus.”

He cupped my face and kissed me, but the crowd’s sudden shouts cut the moment short. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a figure charging toward us.

“Die, Abby! This is all your fault!”

She lunged with a knife. I couldn’t dodge. I squeezed my eyes shut.

But before she got close, the security guards tackled her and kicked the knife away. They pinned her to the ground.

Jenna’s eyes were bloodshot. “Why was this happening? I was supposed to be the heroine! I should be standing next to you! She tricked you!”

“Abby, you villainess! You deserve to be tossed into the ocean for the sharks!”

In front of everyone, Jenna had attempted murder on top of escaping prison. This time, she got life without parole.

I was shaking. Jason held me tight. “It’s over. She’s never getting out.”

I finally realized. “You planned this.”

“I got word she’d escaped. I was waiting for her. Don’t worry, I wasn’t going to let her hurt you. Plainclothes officers and my security team were posted all around the venue. The second Jenna showed up, she was done.”

[Oh my god, Abby. He did so much for you. He planned every detail of this wedding himself. When he found out the heroine was coming, he panicked and mobilized the entire security team!]

[There are at least 200 security people here that you can’t even see. He even pulled cops from the station. He really loves you.]

I leaned into him. The butler handed me an envelope. It was from Henry.

Before I could open it, Jason snatched it and threw it in the trash.
