The Subtitles Told Me I’d Be Thrown Into the Sea—So I Stopped Loving Him Chapter 03

[The villainess doesn’t know yet. Her family is about to go bankrupt. Jason has already started making moves. This project is a trap!]

[But what did she do wrong this time? Why’s he cutting her off now that he’s got what he wanted?]

[Looks like this commenter’s taking Abby’s side. She basically trapped him! Does she even deserve him?]

[I can’t wait to see her family go under!]

My heart jumped. I ran upstairs to the study.

“Dad, don’t work with Jason. There’s something wrong with that project!”

My dad looked up from behind his computer, his expression complicated. “Abby, I know what I’m doing with the company.”

“No, Dad! Please don’t work with him, or we’ll go bankrupt!”

I ran over and grabbed his hand. That’s when my gaze fell onto his computer screen. It was Jason.

My dad was on a video call with him!

I fumbled and hung up. Looking back at my dad, I panicked. “Dad… were you just on a video call with Jason?”

“So what if I was?” He patted my shoulder. “Abby, I think you’ve misunderstood something. Jason’s offering us very good terms.”

“No! He’s getting revenge! Revenge for me forcing him to stay with me. Dad, please don’t sign with him. Or we’ll go under!”

“Okay, okay. Whatever my sweetie says.”

I finally convinced my dad. When I came out of the study, my mom handed me some juice. I took a few sips, worn out and terrified, then headed to my bedroom to rest.

When I woke up, the subtitles made my jaw drop.

[What’s going on with Abby? Her playing hard to get is working really well. Jason is going crazy.]

[The real heroine is trying to comfort him, but he won’t listen. He’s desperately looking for Abby.]

[Little does she know her dad still put money into that project. This is gonna be juicy.]

My heart nearly stopped. I scrambled out of bed and glanced out the window. The sun was already bright.

I checked my phone. It was already the next day!

There were well over a hundred missed calls and countless texts — all from Jason.

I was confused. Then my phone rang again. I answered on instinct. Jason’s voice came through.

“Abby Wilson! Come out!”

“Why? Jason, we broke up. Please just leave me alone. I’m begging you.”

“I won’t say it twice. Come out!”

I clenched my fists, stormed downstairs, and saw Jason standing in my living room.

“Jason! What are you doing here!”

“Abby. Come back with me.”

He walked toward me. I backed away fast. “No! We agreed to break up. I’ve done more than enough for you!”

“Stay away from me!”

“If you don’t want your family to go bankrupt, you’ll come with me.”

His eyes were dark. The way he looked at me made my blood run cold. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me out.

Panic surged through me as the pop-up lines filled my vision.

[What’s going on? Why’s Jason here to get Abby? He’s supposed to be off with the heroine!]

[He probably wants her to watch him and the heroine get intimate. He bought a new place, decorated it with his own hands, and he’s going to be all over the heroine there.]

[Even though Abby let him go, he won’t forgive her.]

Seeing that, I was terrified.

“Jason, what do I have to do for you to let me go?”

“I helped you. I know I was spoiled and difficult. I’m sorry I hit you. I’m sorry I made you cook and rub my feet. I was wrong!”
