The Stolen Mate and the Moon Goddess’s Trial Chapter 08

The Stolen Mate and the Moon Goddess’s Trial Chapter 08 The Storm Was Over

Dad’s face turned red with rage. He raised his palm to strike me, but I clamped his wrist firmly in mid-air.

I said, “Once, I respected you and never fought against you.

“Now, everything is different.

“We have officially renounced each other. From now on, I will never let you lay your hand on me!”

I tightened my grip slightly. Dad grimaced in pain.

Mom hurried to stop me. “Lila, we paid for your studies at Werewolf Academy, where you became a researcher. For the sake of our support, why can’t you forgive us?

“You still have a comfortable life, don’t you?”

She put on her usual sorrowful act again.

I wrinkled my nose in undisguised disgust.

“I have long repaid every ounce of kindness you showed me over the

years.

“I was the one who upheld Black Rock Pack’s dignity and ran all its industries on my own. However, you choose to side with Quinn, who has just spent a few days with you, and wish me dead.

“Now, you dare beg me for favors. This is so ridiculous,” I said scornfully.

After saying that, I handed the bond dissolution agreement to Asher.

I demanded, “Sign this, and we will part ways for good.”

Asher stared down at the paper without moving for a long time.

I took a deep breath and said, “If you don’t sign within three seconds, my werewolf lawyers will deliver the lawsuit papers to you tomorrow.”

He slowly took the document and signed his name reluctantly.

The relationship between us finally came to an end.

That was enough. I was not going to make things harder for him.

Asher asked, “What must I do to make you spare Quinn?”

He handed me the signed dissolution agreement, his voice rough and worn.

I took the paper and said evenly, without a flicker of softness, “Nothing you do will change my mind.

“Also, pass a message to Kyle. The lawyer’s letter will be delivered to him tomorrow morning.

With that, I turned and left without glancing back.

It was then that I noticed the whole residence was a mess because of Quinn’s absence.

The Moon Goddess’s voice echoed beside my ears.

“You have passed the trial. I shall grant you an extra reward. What do you want?”

I did not hesitate for a second and chose full ownership of every industry under Black Rock Pack’s name along with the title of its Alpha.

After all, every bit of the pack’s glory had been built from my own blood, sweat, and labor.

From then on, I poured most of my energy into charity work and pack governance. The pain caused by the storm that had greatly impacted my life faded as time went by.

Once the full truth spread across the packs, no one dared to belittle me, the new Alpha of Black Rock Pack.

Three years later, I walked hand in hand with Kane, my mate, past a formalwear boutique and spotted my old family begging on the street by chance.

The moment they laid eyes on me, they swarmed forward fiercely.

“Lila, you cannot treat us like this!”

“You will be punished for your cruelty!”

I stood beside Kane, my voice cold and unyielding.

“The wicked shall reap their own retribution, and that includes all of you.”

With that, I took a handful of coins from the last coffee shop out of my pocket and tossed them down into their can.

They wailed and screamed in despair, but Asher kept his head low, silent the entire time.

Kane wrapped his arm tighter around my waist and asked softly, “Lila, do you know these people?”

I nodded, then shook my head.

“They are all greedy bastards,” I said firmly.

Kane held my arm and smiled at me warmly.

We walked straight into the boutique together.

He picked out a sleek black formal gown for me, one that fit better than anything I had worn before.

“Just wear this for our bonding ceremony,” he said happily.

I met Kane a year ago during my charity outreach.

He was the Alpha of Crescent Pack, but he chose to dwell deep in undeveloped areas and care for orphans left without guardians.

As an Alpha, he was not arrogant at all. Instead, he possessed a rare gentleness and kindness that pulled my heart to him instantly.

I fell hard for him and couldn’t hold back my feelings.

I pursued him for a long time, but he always gently turned me down, explaining he could not bear to abandon the vulnerable children under his care.

I understood his devotion, so I spent half a year building a brand-new school for the orphans and hiring the most skilled teachers for them.

Only then did he finally agree to stay by my side.

Three days later, we held our bonding ceremony.

It was humble. There were neither gilded grand halls nor mountains of blooming flowers.

We only needed two rings, two true hearts, and a crowd of friends who sincerely wished us joy.

Warm golden sunlight drifted through the windows, painting our future in brilliant color.

All the pain and betrayal of the past completely faded away. Bright and peaceful life waited ahead for us both.
