The Stolen Mate and the Moon Goddess’s Trial Chapter 07 Consequences of Their Theft

Quinn was escorted away by officers, screaming nonstop the whole time.

“I didn’t steal anything! Lila gave this to me of her own free will!”

I stood at the lab doorway watching the flashing police lights. The Moon Goddess’s voice suddenly echoed beside my ear.

“Congratulations. You have completed thirty percent of your trial of retribution.”

I let out a long, weary breath. My pale reflection stared back at me from the glass.

At five in the morning, I returned to the hospital.

A nurse was reattaching my IV drip when the ward door crashed open without warning.

Mom burst inside, her hair disheveled and her eyes bloodshot red.

She raised her palm to strike me, but two nurses stopped her.

I met her gaze, my voice cold and steady.

“Mom, if you dare lay that hand on me, Quinn’s guilt of stealing classified materials from Werewolf Academy will be established right away.”

Her hand froze in midair.

She said through tearful sobs, “You ungrateful child! Do you intend to destroy all of us?

“Your father collapsed and was rushed to emergency care the second he heard the news.

“If Quinn goes to prison, I will take my own life. You, Lila, are the one persecuting your sibling and parents!”

A bitter laugh escaped me, my tone turning icier.

“Mom, we live in an age without werewolf courts. Do you wish for me to sue you for slander?”

“You’re killing me!” Mom snapped.

She trembled so violently that she could barely form more coherent words.

I added coldly, “Have you forgotten the threat made by the demon against Quinn?

“Last Wednesday night, it was you who forced me to let her share my mate, Asher.”

Mom’s face flushed with shame instantly.

Just then, Asher rushed into the ward and began to shed tears.

He begged, “Lila, forgive Quinn, please.

“If she is locked away without me protecting her, the demon will take her life.

“I promise to sign the bond dissolution papers right away. I want nothing for myself. Please let Quinn go.”

I pulled the blanket aside and stepped over to him, gripping his jaw to force him to meet my

eyes.

His fear and desperate pleading were plain to see, yet this time, I would show no mercy.

“Are you attempting to threaten me? Whether you cooperate or not, I’ll surely dissolve our bond.

“If you resist, I will hire the finest werewolf lawyers across the land and have you thrown in prison alongside Quinn,” I said coolly.

Mom cried, “It’s a sin and shame to have a daughter like you!”

She wept bitterly, and Asher wrapped an arm around her, his eyes glistening with tears.

Asher said, “Lila, for the sake of the nine years we’ve spent together, don’t be so mean.”

I turned my head away without a single reply.

Silence was the only thing I could offer.

They left. The room sank into frigid quiet once more.

I sat alone on the hospital bed deep into the night.

The next day, I carried the fully drafted bond dissolution agreement to the residence of Black Rock Pack.

The gates were bolted shut. Obviously, I was not welcome.

But it did not matter. The Moon Goddess’s power cleared my path.

The massive gates swung open automatically, and I walked straight toward the main hall.

My parents and Asher sat together, their faces twisted with grief, rage, and resentment all at

once.

“Lila, how do you still have the nerve to come back?

“Did you sabotage all of Black Rock Pack’s businesses?” Dad asked furiously.

I shook my head.

He bellowed, “You liar! Black Rock Pack has gone bankrupt. It’s all your fault!”

“Nonsense! Without me, Black Rock Pack would have gone bankrupt long ago!” I retorted sharply.

“Quinn is locked up now. If you still care about this family, fix Black Rock Pack’s financial ruin!” Dad ordered.

I shot back aggressively, “Why should I?”

“Because you are our daughter and a member of Black Rock Pack!”

I let out a hollow laugh and said peacefully, “Dad, I must remind you of one thing.

“I am now a rogue with no pack ties. It was you that exiled me from Black Rock Pack.”
