Back in my dorm, my ASL instructor texted to ask why I had missed class.

I had signed up for the course right after I first met Leith, planning to surprise him once I could finally understand what he was signing.

There was no point anymore.

After sending the message, I blocked Leith’s number.

This time, I was done with him for good.

The next day, I officially joined Larkhaven Campus Radio.

Every evening at six-thirty, I went to the studio to record.

Madox usually walked me back afterward.

voice coming from?

He glanced at me. “What’s wrong?”

“Did you hear something?”

He shook his head.

“No. Did you?”

“Maybe I imagined it.”

I rubbed my temple.

“I probably haven’t been sleeping enough.”

As I opened the entrance to Mariston Hall, I heard the voice again.

This time, I spun around fast enough to catch sight of a shadow.

Leith?

Before I could make sense of it, the comments appeared.
