The Scorned Princess’s Silent Vengeance Chapter 03

The sudden crash made Ezra suspicious.

“Neon? What’s going on over there?”

Neon grabbed the phone and was about to speak when I picked up the stool beside me and smashed it hard against his head.

Looking at Neon, who had passed out, I gasped for breath.

I picked up the phone from the floor and hung up without hesitation.

I wiped the blood from my forehead, kicked Neon on the ground, then found a rope and tied up Neon and his mother.

Just after I finished dealing with them, a series of urgent knocks came from the front door.

“Helen, are you okay?”

I hid the silver knife behind my back, opened the door slightly, and deliberately exposed the wound on my forehead.

“Mrs. Hilda, is there something you need?”

When she saw me, Mrs. Hilda’s expression clearly changed.

I clenched my hand and quickly understood.

She had either been sent by Ezra to check on the situation, or the entire town had already been bought off by him.

With that thought, I immediately put on a timid expression.

“Neon… he drank too much… Helen probably can’t come out to greet you right now.”

Neon was a notorious drunk. Whenever he got drunk, he would hurt people, and many werewolves in town had suffered at his hands.

Mrs. Hilda was only an Omega, and she was clearly afraid after hearing that.

“Then take good care of them. I’ll leave first.”

The moment she left, I immediately shut the wooden door.

I knew my excuse could fool Mrs. Hilda, but it wouldn’t fool Ezra. He could tell from the phone call whether Neon had actually been drinking.

The only option left was to run.

Without hesitation, I ran into the room, found the keys, and unlocked all the silver chains around my wrists and ankles.

I hid the phone with the recording in my clothes and grabbed a few dry pieces of bread. Under the cover of night, I quickly climbed over the wall and escaped.

The town was hidden deep inside a forest. There was only one main road leading outside, while the rest were small paths.

I didn’t dare risk taking the main road. I gritted my teeth and plunged into one of the smaller trails.

Rough branches whipped against my body, reopening wounds that had barely healed. The scent of blood slowly spread through the air.

I bit down hard, refusing to make a sound, but my breathing grew heavier and heavier.

The forest at night was black and dreadful, and it threw me back to when Camila’s mother had abandoned me here as a child.

Back then, I had scored perfectly on my exams and told her I wanted to attend Yale University.

She threw me into the woods and cursed me viciously.

“You were born worthless—the lowest she-wolf there is. If you won’t accept your place, then go die.”

But I hadn’t died.I survived alone in the mountains, gritted my teeth through college, and eventually found my biological parents.

This time, I would never accept my fate either.

But just then, chaotic footsteps suddenly came from behind me, followed by a powerful werewolf scent.

I turned around and saw more than a dozen flashlights sweeping back and forth in the distance.

My heart dropped. I ran.

Countless thorny branches cut into my hands. The blood and pain kept me more awake than ever.

But after running for a while, my foot slipped, and my entire body rolled down the hillside.

My forehead slammed into a rock, and a blinding light shone into my eyes.

Then everything fell into darkness.

…

I thought I was dead because a distant voice reached my ears. It was my wolf inside me, the presence I had never once felt before.

“Don’t give up, Riley. Open your eyes. They’re not worth it. Not your tears, not your love. Get up. Run.”

…

In the largest banquet hall of Ravenshire Pack, Camila held onto Ezra’s arm and walked step by step toward Alpha Grant Cole of Nightfang Pack.

“Ezra, am I really not dreaming?”

“I can marry Alpha Cole, and Mom and Dad are really willing to give me the shares?”

Ezra smiled affectionately and comforted her.

“Of course. Mom and Dad already believe that the phone call from a few days ago was just a prank.”

“Nightfang Pack’s engagement and the shares I promised you won’t be taken away by anyone.”

“Not even Riley.”

Ezra brought Camila to the center of the stage. Under everyone’s watchful eyes, he had just picked up the share transfer papers prepared by our parents when…

The tightly closed doors of the hall suddenly opened.

Then came a piercing scream.

“Ahhhhh!”
