The Princess Who Left the Alpha Family Chapter 01

The Princess Who Left the Alpha Family Chapter 01

The day of the Mating Ceremony, my Alpha fiancé Kellan Veymont blocked the car door.

“I’m not here for you today.”

His buddies cracked up when I just stood there frozen.

“Game’s over, boys. Pay up.”

“Damn, Kellan. You actually bagged the ice queen.”

“Venmo me what you owe. Mating gift cash too. Every cent.”

Then my sister Calyra climbed into the ceremonial car wearing a wedding gown identical to mine. Kellan’s hand steadied her the whole way.

The car pulled off. I moved to chase it, but my family boxed me in.

Lucien, my eldest brother and Alpha heir, planted himself in front of me. “Kellan’s always wanted Calyra. He’s marking her today. Their ceremony. You so much as blink wrong, I’ll make you wish you hadn’t.”

The Luna, my mother, grabbed my hand. “Veyra. Your sister isn’t well. You know how fragile she is. Kellan’s the only thing keeping her from falling apart. Please, just let it go. For me.”

My Alpha father grunted. “She already stole eighteen years of Calyra’s life. Giving up one mate? That’s getting off easy.”

They ordered me locked inside the pack house. No scenes. No interruptions.

I didn’t scream. I didn’t cry.

I could barely keep the smile off my face.

The second the Gammas shoved me through the door, a voice hit my skull.

“Confirm selection: death-facilitated world departure?”

“Confirmed.”

“Select method.”

“Jump. Off the roof. Right in front of Kellan and the whole Nightwind Pack. Let them choke on it.”

“Method generating… Method locked. Upon confirmed death, system reward will be disbursed. Irreversible upon confirmation.”

“Confirmed.”

This was my twenty-first year in this werewolf world. The third year since Calyra came back.

I was the Nightwind Pack’s fake princess. My sister Calyra? The real one. Switched at birth.

I was an orphan in my old world. When I landed here, I thought I’d hit the jackpot.

A mom. A dad. A brother who’d burn the world for me.

All of it crumbled the night I turned eighteen. The night Dad brought Calyra home.

Every door in the pack house was dead-bolted. Every window barred. They had a squad watching me.

“Miss Veyra. You sit tight now. Or I’m gonna have to hurt you.”

Beatrice stood there with a baseball bat. Eyes locked. Fingers twitching.

I took two steps toward the door. The bat cracked against my leg.

I hit the floor. Pain. White-hot and blinding.

“Miss Veyra. Miss Calyra gave me very clear instructions. You act up? I break your legs.”

Then she shrieked. “She’s trying to run! Stop her! She’s going to ruin the ceremony!”

Gammas swarmed me. Bats and clubs raised.

I scrambled backward. “What the hell are you doing? I wasn’t running! You can’t just…”

“Miss Veyra. You think we’re stupid? You’re not running now. Doesn’t mean you won’t try later.”

“Easier to just snap the bones now. Solves everyone’s problem. You’re not ruining Miss Calyra’s day. Not on my watch.”

“I’ll tell my parents! They’ll…”

“Go ahead. Tell the Alpha. Tell the Luna. I’ll say you threw yourself off the second floor trying to escape. Who’re they gonna believe?”
