The Night He Chose Her, I Chose My Revenge Chapter 20

The Night He Chose Her, I Chose My Revenge Chapter 20

I turned my head.

Penelope rushed toward us, her face twisted with a strange, triumphant rage.

With a slap, she slammed a document onto the table in front of Julian.

It was a paternity suit.

“I’m pregnant with your child, Julian,” she announced, her voice sharp and clear. “I’ve hired the best lawyer. I’m demanding you establish a trust fund for our child.”

Julian went completely rigid.

He stared at Penelope in disbelief, then at the document.

“Impossible. I will never allow a bastard to stain the Croft bloodline.”

Penelope’s eyes were hard and cold. She let out a scornful laugh.

“Bloodline? Look at yourself, Julian. You have nothing. The Croft legacy is an empty shell. This child will be your only ‘legacy.’”

“You lunatic!”

Julian shook with rage. He shot to his feet and lunged at her.

Penelope screamed and clawed back at him.

The once-dignified Southern gentleman and the darling socialite were now grappling like feral animals, their curses echoing through the quiet café.

Taking advantage of the chaos, I calmly picked up the divorce agreement he had already signed.

Protected by my bodyguards, I turned and left without a shred of reluctance.

Everything happening behind me was no longer my problem.

I got into my brother Liam’s car, and we drove straight to the airport.

The private jet cut through the Charleston night, flying toward Austin.

I was finally going home.
