The Moretti Family’s Useless Eighth Daughter Was Actually a Hidden Powerhouse Chapter 08

Damian’s face slowly turned gray.

The trap he’d spent so long building was coming apart in front of everyone, one layer at a time.

I folded my arms and took my time watching him unravel.

“So, whose hand is that blade supposed to cut now?”

“Impossible.”

Damian completely lost control.

He rushed to the laptop and frantically dragged through the pages with the mouse.

“My funding pool had three layers of encryption, and the firewall was military–grade. How could someone like

you, who barely took college seriously, possibly get inside?”

Panic had turned his eyes red.

I took half a step back, disgusted.

“Three layers of encryption? RSA mixed with chaotic sequences, and you thought that was worth showing

off?”

I paused, nearly saying “in my previous life” before changing course at the last second.

“I was playing with that kind of thing ten years ago. Your so–called military–grade firewall is no stronger than

a paper door to me.”

Elio sucked in a sharp breath.

He stared at the stripped–down code on the screen, then finally managed to speak.

“That wasn’t a hack. You dismantled the underlying structure.”

When he finished, he looked at me like I was something he couldn’t begin to understand.

At the same time, the representatives across the table fell into complete chaos.

The German representative shot to his feet and launched into a furious tirade at Damian in German.

“Falcone, you liar! You promised the funding structure was completely safe! Now all our accounts have been frozen because of you! You didn’t just destroy yourself. You dragged us down with you!”

The other representatives turned on him too.

The alliance that had seemed unbreakable collapsed in less than ten minutes.

Damian raked a hand through his hair, ruining the perfectly neat hairstyle he’d started with.

“All of you, shut up!”

He spun around, snatched the asset–transfer agreement from the table, and clutched it like the last weapon

he had left.

“Vittorio! So what if the overseas funding has a problem? I’ve cut off Moretti Holdings‘ domestic funding

chain in the United States too! As long as this agreement exists, you’ll still lose every one of your

businesses!”

The desperate criminal beneath the polished suit had finally shown himself.

“Sign it now. Hand over all your legitimate assets and control, or none of you is leaving this room today.”

I looked at the thick stack of papers in his hands and couldn’t hold back a laugh.

He was still trying to scare us with a stack of worthless paper.

I walked over, reached out with two fingers, and caught the corner of the agreement.

Damian held on with all his strength.

I rotated my wrist and used his resistance to pull the entire document free.

“Damian.”

I flipped to the final pages and tapped one of the attached authorization documents.

“You might want to take another look. This board authorization and notarized certification are forged, aren’t

they?”

“That’s a lie!”

I’d hit the last nerve he had left. Damian exploded.

“I watched the notary certify those documents myself! The signatures are there, the certification is there, and an attorney witnessed the signing. How could they possibly be invalid?”

I slid the agreement back across the table.

It stopped in front of Alessandro.

“Look at the tax and cross–holding provisions on page three.”
