The Luna Who Forgot Her Pack Chapter 07

The Luna Who Forgot Her Pack Chapter 07

Ever since I moved in, breakfast had always been a solo, makeshift affair. Mrs. Davis only handled lunch nd dinner, and Ethan never cared whether I ate.

In the kitchen, Ethan stood by the table wearing an apron. In front of him was a steaming bowl of cereal and two egg

When he saw me, his gaze darted away. He seemed to muster his courage and said, “Breakfast.”

I didn’t move.

“It took me forever to get it right!”

Honestly, I almost laughed.

The great Alpha Ethan Thorne, cooking? Oh, wait. He wouldn’t stay “great” for long.

I’d already contacted a lawyer. His comfortable life was about to crumble.

I walked over, picked up the bowl, and dumped its contents into the trash can at my feet. The cereal slid down the bag with a wet, sticky sound. The eggs followed.

“You made it,” I said, looking up at his suddenly ashen face. “But I think it’s dirty.”

Ethan’s hand froze mid–air. He looked like he’d been slapped.

I didn’t look at him again. I grabbed a slice of bread from the fridge, took a bite, and walked out.

At noon, I came back to get some documents. Scarlett blocked the stairs.

Her eyes were red. Head down, hands twisted tightly together, she finally choked out. “I’m sorry.”

I crouched down to her eye level. “Your apology isn’t for me. I don’t even remember you. But you should remember who taught you to hate your own mother. Who poured poison in your ear while bathing you.”

Her tears spilled over again.

“When you grow up,” I stood, “don’t become like her.”

I walked around her and went upstairs.

Some things, once broken, can never be fixed. Even a six–year–old had to learn to face the consequences of the seeds she’d

helped plant.

That afternoon, Grace knocked on my door again. “Elara… can we talk?”

I leaned against the doorframe. “Go ahead.”

I can leave.‘ Her voice trembled. “If you can forgive Ethan, I’ll go. Leave this city. You’ll never see me again.”
“Shut up.‘ I cut her off. “Whether you stay or go has nothing to do with me.”

Grace blinked, stunned.

“I was never competing with you,” I said coldly. “You were competing with me. And now you’re saying you’ll leave,‘ as if

you’re doing me a favor? Pathetic.”

‘No! That’s not what I meant!”

“Listen carefully, Grace.” I looked her straight in the eye. “I don’t want Ethan. I don’t want this family. If you want to leave, that’s between you and him. Don’t bring your mess to my doorstep.”

Her mouth opened and closed silently. I closed the door.

That night, Ethan found me, reeking of alcohol. “Elara, I don’t want a divorce.”

I looked at the man who had filled a diary with nothing but my tears. He stood there, eyes red. posture broken. And I felt

nothing. Not a shred of pain.

“Looks like you won’t sign.” I turned around, grabbed the new severance agreement from the desk, and slapped it against

his chest.

Then let the courts decide. Adultery. You get nothing.” I enunciated each word.

“You’d better prepare yourself.”
