The Loser Ex-Wife Came Back Hot Chapter 30

Alaric’s eyes grew glassy with unshed tears. He murmured softly, “Thank you, ma’am…”

“Don’t mention it. From now on, we’re family.”

Mrs. Donald gently smoothed Alaric’s hair.

Nova chimed in, “Mom, Dad, you two should head back. I can stay here with him, and I’ll just head straight to school from here in the morning.”

Mrs. Donald looked at Nova, then at the exhausted Alaric in the bed.

Figuring it was cruel to leave the sick boy alone in the hospital overnight, she agreed.

Mr. Donald looked a bit concerned. “Should I hire a private nurse to stay with you both?”

“No need, Dad, it’s just one night. Just remember to have Clark come pick us up in the morning.”

Seeing her insistence, Mr. Donald couldn’t argue, so he finally agreed.

Once her parents left, Nova sat by the bed, softly comforting him. “Get some sleep. You’ll never have to break your back working just to survive again, you’ll never have to skip dinner, and you’ll never be locked out of the house. From today on, we are your family.”

Listening to her gentle voice, Alaric swallowed hard. It took him a long time before he finally managed to choke out a single word. “Okay.”

The night passed peacefully. Early the next morning, Mr. Donald sent their driver to bring Alaric back to the estate.

Since the city hospital wasn’t far from Lindenwood Preparatory Academy, Nova simply

decided to walk to school.

As luck would have it, Caleb had instructed his driver to pick up Sylvie along the way. The moment they stepped out of the luxury car, holding hands, Nova caught sight of them.

She fully intended to ignore them, but Sylvie proactively called out to her, asking, “Nova, why are you walking to school today?”

Clinging tightly to Caleb’s arm, Sylvie paraded over to Nova as if to show off. “Nova, walking all the way here must be exhausting. Since you probably don’t live too far away, we can have Caleb pick all of us up together from now on.”

Over the past few days, Caleb had been driving Sylvie to and from school every single day. The two were clearly far more intimate than before, practically glued at the hip.

Caleb catered to Sylvie’s every whim. Whatever she pointed at, he bought for her without hesitation.

“No thanks. Caleb’s route doesn’t go anywhere near my house.”

Nova couldn’t be bothered with either of them. Just as she turned to leave, Caleb snapped, “Nova, Sylvie is just trying to be nice. What the hell is your problem?”

The way the Donald family had fiercely protected Alaric last night still infuriated him, and seeing Nova outright ignore him this morning only fueled his rage.

She used to be a pathetic shadow that chased his every footstep. Since when did she dare to look at him with such utter disdain?

“She might be trying to be nice, but I’m rejecting her kindness. Is that clear enough for you?”

Nova walked right past them without another glance. Sylvie pouted, looking incredibly wronged. “I was only trying to help… Did Nova misunderstand me? I should go explain things to her.”

“You are my girlfriend. You don’t need to explain yourself to anyone.”

“But… at the end of the day, I still stole the person Nova loved…”

Sylvie bit her lip, looking the picture of perfect guilt.

Caleb let out a harsh sneer. “Sylvie, you’re just too kindhearted. Nova is a malicious, vicious woman. You don’t owe her an ounce of guilt.”
