The Loser Ex-Wife Came Back Hot Chapter 10

“Don’t be silly, how could you not be hungry? I know you love meat the most. You’re still growing, how can you skip dinner?”

“Mom, I’m going on a diet.”

Nova spoke with a level of absolute determination her mother had never seen before.

Mrs. Donald paused, momentarily stunned by the intense look in her daughter’s eyes. But she quickly nodded and picked the plate back up. ‘Losing some weight is good for your health. Don’t eat this, then.”

Before Nova could say another word, Mrs. Donald rushed out of the room with the roast beef.

Nova thought she might have upset her mother, but half an hour later, Mrs. Donald walked back in carrying a completely different tray.

Staring at the plate of salad and shrimp in front of her, Nova was completely stunned.

Mrs. Donald smiled warmly. “Even if you’re on a diet, you still have to eat. ‘ll have the chef put together a proper, healthy meal plan for you from

now on.”

As her mother gently stroked her hair, Nova’s eyes filled with tears.

Her parents were here… Everything was going to be alright.

After everything she had endured, she finally understood how irreplaceable her family was.

In her past life, she had let her weight destroy her confidence, completely blinding her to the warmth and safety her parents provided.

Instead, she had desperately sought validation from people who wanted to destroy her.

Mrs. Donald pushed the door open slightly. “Nova, you barely ate anything at dinner, so I had the chef make your favorites.”

She carried in a steaming plate of richly glazed roast beef with gravy and a large bowl of buttered mashed potatoes, setting them gently on the

desk.

Staring at the mouthwatering food, Nova swallowed hard.

She hadn’t eaten anything all day, and her stomach was growling fiercely.

Looking at the glistening sauce on the ribs, Nova instinctively rested a hand on her round stomach.

She wanted to eat it… but she couldn’t!

Nova forced herself to look away from the plate. “Mom, I’m not hungry…”

‘Thanks, Mom.”

Nova kept her head down, choking back her tears as she took large bites of the vegetables

She made a silent vow to herself. In three months, she was going to completely transform!

The next morning, Nova was absolutely dizzy with hunger, but when she stepped on the scale, she had already lost five pounds.

Thrilled as she was, Nova knew it was mostly just water weight. Real weight loss required discipline, and she couldn’t afford to slack off for a

second!

At school, Nova’s daily arrivals and departures in a fleet of rotating luxury cars had the entire student body green with envy.

During the short fifteen-minute breaks between classes, the students watched out the window as Nova relentlessly ran laps around the track, nocking her endlessly. “Has Nova completely lost her mind? We barely Jet a break, and she’s out there torturing herself. Doesn’t she get enough exercise in gym class?”

She’s obviously trying to lose weight. To be fair, she does look a tiny bit smaller lately.”

Who cares if she loses weight? She’s still not going to be pretty, and Caleb is definitely never going to like her!”

Tina Jacobs scoffed and nudged Sylvie, who was sitting next to her. ‘Right, Sylvie?”

Sylvie’s expression was stiff, and it took her a moment to respond. When she did, she offered a sweet, practiced smile, perfectly maintaining her innocent persona. “Don’t say that. She might just be trying to pass the physical fitness test. I’m sure it’s not all about Caleb.”

“Sylvie, you’re way too nice to her. Everyone knows you and Caleb met first! The only reason she even hangs out with you is to get closer to

him!”

Sylvie forced another polite smile.

In reality, she had only approached Nova in the first place because she realized Nova had a direct connection to Caleb.

But everyone in class assumed she was the wealthy Sutton heiress, so it made perfect sense to them that she’d naturally run in the same circles as a rich kid like Caleb. Coupled with the fact that Caleb was always so protective of her, it created the perfect illusion.

And she had absolutely zero intention of correcting them.

Just as they were gossiping, Nova appeared at the classroom door. Because of her weight, even a short run left her completely winded, and climbing the stairs had her dripping with sweat.

Seeing this, Sylvie immediately walked over and handed her a pristine handkerchief.

‘Nova, wipe your face,” she offered gently.
