The Invisible Luna’s Revenge Chapter 10

I knew it. Jack’s love for me was never anything more 

than a master’s love for his prized pet. My rebellion 

and my escape, to him, were unforgivable betrayals of 

his order. 

I was called in to give a statement. My testimony lined up perfectly with the evidence, and Jack was about to be formally convicted. 

“Ms. Vance,” the officer said, “the suspect… is 

extremely agitated. He keeps asking to see you. You’re under no obligation to meet him, but if you’re willing, 

we can arrange a supervised visit.” 

I agreed. 

On the day of the visit, I dressed up formally. 

“Anna! Anna!” He rushed to the glass, then suddenly 

froze, his eyes blowing wide with shock. “You… you’re wearing clothes. How did you… do that?” 

I sat down calmly. “Everything got better without you, 

Jack. Way better than just better.” 

His face drained of color. “No! This can’t be! Only I can 

make the antidote!” 

A cold smirk tugged at the corner of my mouth. “Is that 

so?” 

He slammed his palm against the barrier. “Anna, you’re gonna wait for me, right? I’ll be out soon! We’ll 

officially be mates, I promise! This whole thing was a mistake, I shouldn’t have ever turned you in…” 

I almost burst out laughing. 

“Why, Jack? After everything that happened, why on earth would you think I still want you?” 

He stared at me blankly. “Because I love you! You’ve 

always been mine!” 

“Your love was tricking me into drinking that potion?” 

I stood up. “I know you’ve always had the antidote. I 

also know you’ve been able to see me this whole time. 

You had a hell of a good time playing your little game all these years, didn’t you? Look, the game’s over, 

Jack.” 

His face went white instantly. “How could you… how 

could you possibly…” 

“Go repent in prison, Jack.” I turned to leave. 

He froze for a second, then lunged forward in despair. 

“No! Anna! You do love me! I just made one mistake! 

You can’t just give up on me like this!” 

I almost laughed out loud. “One mistake? Jack, you’re 

facing criminal charges. You committed a crime.” 

He didn’t get it. He couldn’t get it. “You’re lying! You’ll 

wait for me! You’re my mate! My Luna! You have to 

wait!” 

He was beyond saving. Incurably messed up. I gave him 

one last look. “You can spend your time in there figuring out how I beat you.” 

I never saw him again. 

A few days later, I posted that original video, along with the explicit recording from that night. 

The video got reported and taken down after only ten minutes online. But ten minutes was all it took. 

Overnight, Chloe was taken in for questioning. The formal charges against Jack were expanded. The scandal of the invisibility potion and the Blackwood Pack dominated every news headline. 

And just like that, my new life officially began. 

Ben asked me about my plans. “You had great grades in school. If you want a job, I can put in a good word for 

you.” 

I stared out the window of my new apartment. “I want to go back. Back to school.” 

He looked a little surprised, then smiled. “You’re smart. Of course you can.” 

After I went back to school, Ben would occasionally update me on what was going on. Supposedly Jack had been acting crazy in custody, completely obsessed–he kept calling me, convinced I’d come see him, that I’d 

wait for him. But I didn’t care anymore. 

A year later, I got accepted into a PhD program. I was 

scrolling through my phone when a news alert popped up: [Former Blackwood Pack Alpha Jack Thorne 

transferred to psychiatric facility following persistent 

abnormal behavior in prison.] 

I stared at the headline for a long moment until Ben waved his hand in front of my face. “You okay?” 

I blinked, and the words blurred out of focus. “I’m fine. I just… suddenly remembered I have a seminar. Tell Mr. Aldrich I’ll come visit him this weekend.” I slung my 

bag over my shoulder. 

“Anna,” Ben called out just as I reached the door. I turned around. He looked unusually nervous. “There’s a new movie out in theaters. Do you… wanna go see it? 

Tonight?” 

I met his gaze, and saw the cautious hope in his eyes. A moment later, I nodded. “Yeah. Pick me up at seven.”
