The Internet Told Him to Leave Me, but He’s Still Holding Me Chapter 16

Epilogue

Damon’s POV

There had always been one little girl by Damon’s side.

She cried at the drop of a hat, threw little tantrums, loved acting spoiled.

At first, he thought she was kind of a pain.

But when she got all pouty, she was actually pretty cute.

Elementary school. Middle school. High school. Nerissa was always there.

Every morning, she’d come charging over to his house just to drag him out of bed.

One morning, he woke up early with a stomachache.

By the time Nerissa came charging in, he was already making breakfast.

Too bad. Should’ve just gone back to bed after the bathroom.

Then Valentine’s Day came around.

His desk was piled high with gifts.

Then he glanced at Nerissa’s-she had even more.

Ahhh! So annoying!

The second she got to school, she marched around returning every gift he’d received.

Fair was fair. So he helped return all of hers too.

Then Nerissa confessed to him.

He’d seen that coming.

Though it would’ve been nice if she hadn’t shouted, “Hubby, I like you!” through a megaphone.

That kind of thing was supposed to stay between the two of them.

Saying it that loud… way too embarrassing.

As for Jasper-that guy actually had the nerve to write a love letter.

Before Damon even had the chance to tear it up, Nerissa snatched it away.

She glanced at it and immediately ran off. Probably to return it.

Then came the campus club event.

Jasper was there too-and Nerissa actually added him.

Seriously? Why were there so many people hovering around his girlfriend?

Time to chase another one away.

After being together, Nerissa grew clingier and clingier.

What a handful. But not bad, really.

Then came a day, she acted like a stranger.

Wait. No kiss today?

Did she stop liking him? Was she getting tired of him?

Nerissa even finished her glass of milk by herself.

Normally, he’d have to coax her forever and kiss her a dozen times before she’d drink it.

Something was off.

Then he found it. That thread.

He read every comment.

What was wrong with those idiots?

Having a clingy girlfriend was a blessing.

Playing along with this whole charade was the worst. What if she really stopped clinging to him?

Casual role-play once in a while was fun, but this time she was taking it way too seriously.

Enough. He wasn’t playing anymore.

If he kept this up, he was actually going to lose his girlfriend.

Nerissa was cutest just being herself.

She should cling to him all she wanted.

Because if she didn’t… then what was the point of him?
