The Girl He Left Behind Chapter 07

After that day, Caspian became even more compliant.

We were perfectly in sync in bed.

More so than I’d ever been with Evan.

Caspian cared about my pleasure.

The experience was leagues better—more attentive, more satisfying.

His build and stamina were in a whole other league.

I almost regretted not sleeping with him sooner.

What a waste of time on that deadbeat Evan.

Caspian never suspected a thing—I’d deleted those chat logs.

Whenever I got the chance, I’d borrow his phone and check the group.

The caller ID was blocked.

I answered and held the phone to Caspian’s ear.

“Hey man, I just had a bad feeling. How’s Iris, really?”

Caspian thought I couldn’t hear Evan.

“She’s… fine,” he muttered.

“Whoa, Caspian, your voice sounds weird. You got a girl with you?”

“…How can you tell?”

“I can just tell, you lucky bastard. Am I interrupting? Introduce her to

us sometime—

Before Evan could finish, I cut in: “Are you done? Focus.”

Silence on the phone.

When Evan spoke again, his voice had changed:

“Caspian Rhodes. Who are you with right now?!”
