The Forgotten Twin Princess Found Her True Pack Chapter 05

The Forgotten Twin Princess Found Her True Pack Chapter 05

The moment the Maybach pulled away, I hit “Do Not Disturb” without a second thought.

My phone went silent instantly.

Morgan squeezed my hand. “From today on, you have a home, not a cage.”

No parents by my side. No pack blessings to send me off.

But the bustle lingered loud behind my back.

Morgan had put together a massive procession of wolves to welcome me!

His pack members from Ironclaw Pack, my colleagues, our mutual friends. None of them asked questions.

Every single one wore a ceremonial corsage, and every face carried a genuine smile.

Morgan’s Beta hollered at the top of his lungs. “Whoever gives our Luna a compliment gets a gold coin

toss!”

And so the blessings poured in.

A passing wolf called out, “That’s the most beautiful Luna I’ve ever seen!”

A little pup piped up, “When I grow up, I wanna mate a she-wolf that pretty!”

Morgan grinned so wide his eyes curved into crescents. “Thank you all. I’ll cherish her and protect her

forever.”

The cheering behind us only grew louder.

Gold coins scattered the entire way. Blessings followed the entire way.

Even after the convoy crossed out of Shadowmaw Pack territory, I didn’t dare lift head.

Because I knew that if I did, the tears would fall.

“Morgan, thank you.”

my

He rubbed his thumb across the back of my hand. “Vanessa, you deserve to be loved. Always.”

The Maybach convoy drove all the way to Ironclaw Pack’s Moon Temple.

When I stepped out, Morgan’s mother was already there waiting.

She placed a Rourke family heirloom necklace around my neck with her own hands. It was beautiful.

“Vanessa, from now on, you’re my daughter too.”

Morgan’s sister, Elsa Rourke, bounced on her toes beside us. “So does that make me the pack’s second -princess now?”

Morgan’s mother shot her a lock, then turned back to fuss over my dress train.

“Morgan, the ceremony can wait a bit. Let Vanessa eat something first. She’s too thin.”

“Once you’ve settled in at Ironclaw Pack, I’m going to make sure you’re healthy and well-fed.”

There was a hint of scolding in her tone, but it made my nose sting and my eyes burn.

Before, whenever Leona and I both needed something at the same time, my parents and Killian simply didn’t

see me.

Today, for the first time, I discovered what it felt like to be seen first.

For the first time, someone looked at how thin I was and didn’t twist it into vanity or some crash diet.

The mating ceremony went smoothly. The proceedings were simple.

No parents on stage to give their blessing. No tearful speeches.

But every pack member watching me had genuine warmth in their eyes.

That night, I was unpacking the luggage I’d brought when I realized Morgan had disappeared. I found Elsa and asked.

Elsa gave me a conspiratorial wink. “Luna, my brother’s preparing a surprise for you. You’ll see soon enough.”

She’d barely finished speaking when Morgan walked back in.

“I never should have told you,” he said to Elsa. “You can’t keep a secret to save your life.”

I followed his voice and looked over. Then I went completely still.

Morgan had brought back two chests made of redwood. They weren’t enormous, but they were exquisite. Carved into the lids were two wolves standing face to face, gazing at each other.

“Vanessa, Mom asked me to make these by hand. The Shadowmaw Pack tradition. You deserve it too.”

I looked at Morgan’s mother. She was smiling at me.

I finally broke. Tears streamed down my face.

“Mom, I didn’t bring enough things to fill these chests…”

Morgan’s mother walked over and gently stroked the top of my head.

“That’s alright. From now on, filling them is my job.”

Before bed, I lay there and opened my phone. The family group chat showed99+ unread messages.

I scrolled through for a while. Only one message mentioned me.

It was from Leona, asking where I was.

Our Luna mother had replied right after: [Ignore her. She’ll come crawling back once the ceremony starts. It’s just a cheap guilt trip.]

Beyond that, no one had wondered where I was. No one had asked if I was safe.

I stared at the screen for a moment, then tapped the button.

Confirm: Leave Group Chat.

A broad, warm hand slid around my waist from behind.

“Get some rest.”

“Okay.”

I turned off my phone and closed my eyes, happy.
