Tamsin’s voice came next, rushed and panicked.

I ended the call before anyone else could speak.

When the screen went dark, I felt surprisingly calm.

I opened my laptop and pulled up the evidence I’d been collecting.

Among it was a recording from the day I gave blood at Wrenford Memorial–two staff members quietly admitting that Mirelle’s heart condition had been fabricated and that someone had paid to falsify her

records.

I also had a photo of the altered medical chart.

After arriving in Morrowfield, I had several independent medical professionals review the records for inconsistencies.

Now the evidence was complete.

I spent the entire night organizing it into a clear report.

Then I attached screenshots of the posts and headlines that had twisted the story months ago and sent the full package to several major news outlets and social media platforms.

By sunrise, the story had flipped. New headlines were already trending, and the accusations against me were beginning to fall apart.

When it was done, I removed my SIM card and tossed it away.

I had only kept that number because the school was still using it to contact me about my enrollment.

Now that everything was finalized, I didn’t need it anymore.

Dawn was just beginning to break outside.

I opened the window and took in a deep breath of cold morning air.
