The Fake Heiress Took My Name, My Family, and My Fiancé Chapter 01

The Fake Heiress Took My Name, My Family, and My Fiancé Chapter 01

A week after my master literally threw me off the mountain, I finally followed my compass to the home I’d lost fifteen years ago.

I stood at the gate and announced who I was. The security guard just sneered at me.

“Who the hell are you? The Sullivan girl was found five years ago. Today’s her engagement party to that Harrington guy. Now get the hell out of here.”

I turned my head and saw the welcome sign by the entrance. It read: [Derek Whitmore & Mira Sullivan, Celebrating Their Engagement]

I was speechless.

I was right here, so how was I already engaged to someone?

I watched the scene with amusement and suddenly remembered the fortune my master had read for me back then.

“A thief. A backstabber. A walking disaster.”

“Are you sure the Sullivan daughter was brought back five years ago?”

I stood there, half-smiling at the guard.

“Of course!” the guard snapped impatiently. “I’ve seen plenty of people like you. You think you can just roll up and play the long-lost heiress for a quick payday? The real one had the family locket and DNA tests to back it up. You can’t just walk in off the street and pull this shit.”

Suddenly a soft, gentle voice spoke. “What’s going on?”

I looked over. A woman in a red dress stood at the entrance. She looked vaguely familiar. The moment she saw me, her expression flickered with surprise.

She knew me?

The guard hurried over and said respectfully, “Miss, this woman keeps claiming she’s the real Sullivan heiress. She won’t leave.”

Mira Langley’s face changed. She snapped, “Why are you even listening to her? Just get her out of here! If she ruins this party, who’s gonna answer for it?”

The guard flinched at her vicious look. “Got it. We’ll toss her right now. Hey! Move!”

I was quick. I kicked one of them, but more guards rushed over and grabbed me.

Seeing how nervous Mira was, I started yelling at the top of my lungs.

“Help! Some girl’s pretending to be a Sullivan! And now she’s coming at me!”

Mira went pale. She shouted in panic, “Shut her mouth!”

Just then, a voice came from behind her. “Mira, what’s going on?”

While the guards hesitated, I broke free, looked at the man, and said flatly, “You’re Derek Whitmore, right? That girl next to you? She’s not the real Sullivan heiress. She stole my life. And I can prove it.”

Mira panicked. She grabbed Derek’s hand. “Derek, don’t listen to her! She’s some random scammer!”

Derek hesitated for a second, then squeezed Mira’s hand back.

“What are you idiots waiting for? Get this liar out of here! Drag her as far as you can. I’ll deal with whatever happens.”

Mira froze, then beamed.

The guards realized Derek was dead set on protecting her. They pulled out baseball bats, ready to beat me down and drag me out.

My face went cold. My master taught me to read people, their futures, their fates. But fighting? The old man would break a hip just trying to demonstrate, so he never bothered.

As I was thinking, a bat came straight at my back. I couldn’t dodge in time. It hit my arm hard.
