The Dress Swap That Exposed Her Perfect Lie Chapter 12

During the graduation photo, everyone’s eyes were on me, stunned.

“No way. Hazel without makeup? She’s totally on Vera’s level.”

“Right? Vera wears a full face every day. Without it, who knows.”

Guys from Liam’s class were ribbing him. “Dude, you never told us your childhood friend was this hot. Why didn’t you lock that down? Hey, give me her number, I wanna shoot my shot. I heard she’s over Ethan anyway.”

Ethan and Liam both whipped their heads toward the guy.

“Piss off,” they said in unison.

I barely paid attention.

Because Zane was leaning in, asking me, “This summer, could you come tutor the little guy? My sister said he’s way too wild. He gave his nanny the slip and ran straight to the creek. He needs to stay home and study.”

He paused, looking a little nervous. “A month… is five thousand enough? If not, I can-”

“Uncle Zane! I’m going on vacation with Mom this summer! No homework!” A high-pitched shriek cut through

the air, but Zane clamped his hand over the kid’s mouth.

He turned to me with a strained smile. “See? He’s so excited he’s screaming. Kids, right? Can’t hide their

emotions.”

I looked at the little boy, whose face was bright red. Something felt off.

Then I thought about fifty grand a month.

My brain short-circuited for one happy second, and I beamed. “Deal!”
