The Daughter She Never Chose Chapter 13

The Daughter She Never Chose Chapter 13

The viewers fell for it immediately. The comments came flooding in.

[What kind of person does this? She’s completely heartless!]

[She works at a major company?? Do they not screen for basic human decency?]

[Won’t even pay to save her own parents’ lives. Absolute trash. How does she sleep at night?]

“Pay up. Or your life is over.”

Dad watched the hate pour in and smiled where the viewers couldn’t see.

He mouthed the words to me.

“Think very carefully. If you don’t pay, your career is finished.”

I smiled back. Then I pulled up the security footage on my phone, cranked the volume all the way up, and hit play.

It was their conversation from that morning at the house.

“When she gets here, I’ll tell her to sign both houses over to you…”

“She was the one who dragged Julian out. She was running a dangerously high fever…”

Everything was on that video. From the moment I stood outside the door to their plan to take the houses, to the threats, every second of it.

They’d never cared about my safety.

Which meant they had no idea I’d installed security cameras in every room before they moved in, just in case they slipped and fell or had an emergency overnight.

The cameras came down when the house sold.

But I’d never gotten around to deleting the old footage.

Turns out, it was my ace in the hole.

My parents’ faces drained of color.

The second they realized what was playing, they lunged for my phone.

“What are you doing?! Turn that off!”

“Are you trying to destroy us?!”

Too late.

Every viewer had already heard it. The tide turned instantly.

[?? HOLD ON. So the daughter isn’t the villain here?? The PARENTS were shaking her down for everything she earned and funneling it to the son?? They wanted her to buy HIM a house AND pay for his wedding??]

[Look at the stuff she gave her mom. All designer. All luxury. An absolute fortune’s worth…]

[She clearly loved them. You can see it just from that.]

[Imagine how many times they had to break her heart before she finally gave up…]

[Girl did NOTHING wrong. Parents like that? You run and don’t look back.]

[And they tried to get her FIRED with a fake complaint?? These people are unreal. Absolutely shameless.]

The internet mob spun right around and aimed straight for their throats.
