The Comments Said the Heartthrob Confessed Wrong, So I Rejected Him Chapter 09

An hour later, Brynn still looked pissed.

One of my roommates leaned in.

“Griffin thought Brynn was bullying you. He called her out in front of everyone. She got humiliated bad.”

“Honestly, I don’t think they’re actually together. He’s not even nice to her. Oh, and you left your tray earlier. Griffin cleared it for you.”

I was in such a rush I forgot.

He was surprisingly helpful.

My roommate nudged me, tilting her chin toward Brynn.

She was glued to her phone, fingers flying across the screen. She was smiling, but it was the kind of smile that gave you the creeps.

That’s when those comments came rushing back.

My account. She still had it.

I tried not to jump to conclusions.

But I knew one thing for sure-I needed to get it back.

After a minute, I messaged her. [Brynn. You’ve had my account for two months. I’ve asked you multiple times. You keep putting it off. If I don’t have it back by today, I’m not going to dinner tonight. If you don’t care about what I need, then you don’t actually care about me.]

Her smile widened.

She shot back an “OK” emoji.

By the time we headed out for the group dinner, my roommates had all glammed up.

I’d used their makeup time to do an extra hour of work.

I arrived at the restaurant alone.

Brynn and the others weren’t there yet. But the place was packed.

Like something was happening.

Then a guy ran out from the crowd, holding flowers, dropping to one knee in front of me.

“Sage. I like you. Be with me.”
